23.01.2022 The squad had the pleasure of being visited by Dave Mace from the Manning Valley Truck Drivers Club yesterday. Dave gave us a brief history of his club as below. The club was formed over 30 years ago to raise money for the funerals of local truck drivers who were killed on the road or passed away from illness etc. A cheque would be given to the family for $5,000 and then the club would organise a benefit and money raised above the recouped 5K would be given to the family.... As time went on and with less people being killed on the roads, the decision was made to wind the club up and the club decided that the remaining money would be donated to the Taree Rescue Squad. Dave visited us to present a cheque for just over $4,000. We are extremely thankful to this group for their kind donation and we showed Dave around the shed and over our vehicles, demonstrating the kind of equipment that these donations go towards. Once again, from all of us at TRS, THANKYOU! #vrarescue #tareerescuesquad #yourrescuesquad #ourcommunity #thankyou
