21.01.2022 We can't let 2020 finish without thanking everyone involved in our club this year! Whichever role you've participated in - player, volunteer, coach, team management, committee member, sponsor, parent or supporter. Thank you. Organised sport was thrown the biggest curve balls in living memory this year. However, due to the hard work of a large number of people we are proud to say that our club adapted and grew from the challenges. So.. we've done some reflecting - and here's... some of the things we achieved this year: Named as NSW Touch Football Sydney Rebels Affiliate of the Year Summer 2020/21 Junior competition participation rate increase of over 30% Grew our 2020/21 Senior Summer competition by a similar increase Sharks Women's 30s - NSW State Cup Champions Sharks Senior Mixed - NSW State Cup Runners Up Sharks 10 Boys - NSW JSC Southern Conference Champions Sharks 10 Girls - NSW JSC Southern Conference Champions Sharks 8 Girls - NSW JSC Southern Conference Runners Up 49 combined game wins over the Junior State Cup weekend (a club record) Corinne May named inaugural recipient of the June Maher award Created digital content during isolation period such as pass the ball ‘stay in touch’ videos to keep teams connected Created a video including NRL Superstars, commentators and even The Wiggles to wish our Junior State Cup teams good luck! Mia Toohey named Junior Female Club captain (JSC 2020) Blake Wardrobe named Junior Male Club Captain (JSC 2020) Scarlett Turner named Aileen May Award Winner (JSC 2020) Koa Cooper named Darren Shelley Award Winner (JSC 2020) Last man standing NRL club fundraiser Junior State Cup raffle ticket fundraiser Begun Winter Senior and Junior competitions in July as soon as public health orders allowed (one of only a few clubs to do so) Joel Caine awarded a NSWTA Blues Award for his tireless work and dedication to our club Our first ever Junior Skills School Holiday Clinic was a sellout! Over 140 juniors attended Launched our new website (www.taren-point.nswtouch.com.au) Our club was featured on Sunrise on Channel 7! Entered 3 representative teams to the Vawdon Cup, with our Mens Div.2 and Girls Youth League both semi finalists First Vawdon Cup Womens Open side in many seasons We welcomed dozens of new referees to our club Club stalwart Mark Hearnden appointed President of NSW Touch Football Served up thousands of sausage sandwiches Selected 14 Junior Representative sides for Junior State Cup 2021 (including 3 junior development teams) Ran our first ever Christmas Cup Junior Rep gala tournament Just to name a few things... So.. To everyone who has been involved in our great club in 2020, thank you. Here’s to a safe, successful and happy 2021!

08.01.2022 Did you catch the most recent edition of ‘Touch Point’, Touch Football Australia’s monthly newsletter? WE GOT A MENTION ON PAGE 1! (and it’s a good one) Our junior competition has INCREASED in team participation this season by 35%! With a similar uplift in senior participation also. Well done to all players, team organisers and everyone else behind the scenes. This is a fantastic outcome in what has been a very tough year for community sport.

08.01.2022 Please be advised that Tuesday night Summer Competition is having a night off on 2/11/20 due to the Melbourne Cup and in order to avoid forfeits. These games will be replayed as in a double header round to be advised.

The first time slot for each division is Round 3, followed by Round 6 in the second time slot. Game times... Mixed Div 2: 6.30 and 7:00pm. 06.01.2022 Congratulations to all of our Junior Summer Competition Champions! WHAT A JUNIOR SUMMER SEASON! It was so good to see our juniors down the park once again enjoying their touch footy, having a ball, making friends and memories to last a lifetime. It's been a tough year for so many, but it's at times like this when organised sport plays an especially important role in our community - and especially for our kids. ... Thank you to all of the players, our awesome referee crew, parents, caregivers and volunteers for making this competition one to remember. This season we saw an increased participation rate over over 30%, which we are so proud of. We've tried new things, grown our referee crew, welcomed new teams, erected grandstands and served up thousands of sausage sandwiches (a huge thanks to the dads on the BBQ!). A big shout out also to Steve Turner for being our club photographer this season! All we can say is, bring on next season.
