21.01.2022 Our TRSA State Championship kicked off yesterday with the 3 Position match and today we saw the Air Rifle (Open and Junior), the 20m Prone is currently underway and the Air Rifle Points game commences in just over an hour. The Air Rifle finals were both exceptionally close, and the Junior Final was decided by shoot off! Congratulations to all our medal winners, and good luck to those still yet to compete

20.01.2022 Do you know a young person, aged 12-16, who'd like to come and try our sport? There are limited places left in our Come and Try sessions as part of City of Port Adelaide Enfield Growing for Gold program. Our sessions run in the first week of the school holidays. Can't wait to see you out at the Range!

18.01.2022 The government has announced we can return to community sport from tomorrow. As a result, the Range will be open for Members and Licenced Visitors from tomorrow.

18.01.2022 Mother Nature has pulled out all the stops in preparation for our State Championship this weekend While the weather for our 3P athletes tomorrow looks a bit exciting (hail, thunderstorms, strong winds are all on the cards), our Prone shooters on Sunday look to have some excellent conditions! Big thanks to Craig for mowing our lawns while our Lawn mower is out of action, the Range looks great! Look forward to seeing you all at the Range this weekend!

17.01.2022 Good news! Our Equipment Shop will be open normal hours from tomorrow. The Range and all clubs remain CLOSED to all shooting activities until further notice

16.01.2022 Great to see our sport getting a bit of air time! If you'd like to be involved in the postal shoot, there are details in the Competitions section of our website

16.01.2022 In line with the Premiers announcement, the Wingfield Range will be closed to all shooting activities from tomorrow. This also affects all TRSA Clubs and the Wingfield Junior Club. The Equipment Shop will remain open, but please do not attend if you are unwell.

10.01.2022 Event Spotlight: 50m Prone The 50m Prone event is a 60 shot competition in the Prone position (lying down). Competitors use .22LR target rifles. These have a longer and heavier barrel than you might have seen on hunting type rifles and sometimes have aluminium stocks with lots of different adjustments. This means the athlete can get the rifle to fit them perfectly. These rifles use peep sights (no magnification!) and there is a sling to help support the weight of the rifle.... The best athletes in the world are getting 600/600 in this competition! This event is very popular with clubs because there is not a lot of equipment needed. Depending on the club, this event may also be shot at 20m or 90m. What's your favourite range to shoot Prone at?

08.01.2022 The Target Rifle SA Equipment Shop, TRSA Range and all TRSA clubs will close as of 12:01am 19 November in line with the State Government's COVID-19 response. We encourage you to follow the information being released by SA Health regarding this "circuit breaker" lockdown, and to play your part by abiding by the current restrictions. A timeline for reopening will be communicated when the State Government has indicated it is safe to do so.... During this lockdown we can still be contacted via email - [email protected] Don't forget to check on your mates during this time, especially those who may be isolated or who live alone.

08.01.2022 Full results from our State Championships are now available on the website https://www.targetriflesa.com/results/

06.01.2022 Event Spotlight: Benchrest Class 3 Next up in our event spotlight is the Benchrest Class 3 competition. This match is quite similar to Benchrest Class 1 that we highlighted a few weeks back. This competition is also shot using rifles over a rest. It is typically competed at 50m and 20m. The difference being that Rifles can weigh up to 8kg and there are no restrictions on the style of the rifle or the magnification of the scope. This match can be quite competitive, and shooters need to be able to read the wind well. Often the winners are determined by how many 'Inner 10s' (10.2 or better) they shot! You'll often find Class 3 shooters in our testing tunnel, testing out different types of ammunition to find out which one works best in their rifle - every little bit helps in this match!

05.01.2022 We had so much fun at the first session of City of Port Adelaide Enfield #GrowingForGold program! Once everyone got the hang of it we had a friendly competition and played some games, we hope everyone had as much fun as we did! There are still a few spots left later in the week if you know someone aged 12-16 who might be interested. Visit www.growingforgold.com.au

03.01.2022 Don't forget - entries close THIS Saturday 19th September for our State Championships (25-27 Sep). Enter online here - https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=644065&

01.01.2022 Event Spotlight: Benchrest Class 1 Benchrest is shot, you guessed it, on a Bench, over a rest! This event is competed at the 50m and 20m distances (depending on what is available at your local range). Benchrest has 3 classes. Class 1 is restricted to standard 'bunny guns' or lightweight sporter Rifles in the .22LR calibre. Rifles such as the CZ 452 are popular in this benchrest competition. The rifles cannot weigh more than 3.5kg and telescopic sights cannot exceed 12 pow...er magnification. At 50m the standard ISSF 50m Rifle target is used - this has a 10 ring that measures just 10.4mm across. In a 60 shot match, Competitors in this event are likely to only get 10 or so 9's. Competitors spend lots of time practising to read the wind, and getting their setup just right - they want everything to be exactly the same, for every shot! This match is shot by members of all ages, and allows members to stay in the sport when age or injury no longer allows them to shoot prone or air rifle. It is also a good starting point for new members, as it does not require a lot of expensive equipment. See more
