23.01.2022 It's been a busy couple of weeks for us with the launch of another website. Expressive Art is a local business based on the sunny East Coast of Tasmania. They are an exciting organisation who collaborate with artists, holistic practitioners, elders, educators and community to support greater health, happiness, joy and vitality in everybody. The site was launched just in time for their 8-week workshop series pop-up which starts this Friday. We recommend everyone take a look at their site - https://expressiveart.com.au/ and check out all of the awesome events and workshops they have coming up!

20.01.2022 Before you can build any kind of website there are two essential components that you need. The first is a domain name and second is web-hosting. A domain name is your websites URL and it is the address of your website.... Domain names can end in all sorts of variations. Some of the most common are - .com .com.au .net .org If you have a local Australian business, a .com.au domain name is the best type of domain name that you can purchase. .com.au domains are known as top-level domains for Australia and will help tell google and other search engines that you have an Australian business. To purchase these domains, you will need to have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and the domain must be related to your business or business name. There are also options to purchase these Australian domains - .org.au - for organisations. .net.au - for internet organisations. .edu.au - for educational institutions. And don't forget that your domain name needs to be continually renewed as they cannot be purchased outright or permanently.

15.01.2022 It's been a lot quieter (and more productive ) around the office lately as our new sidekick Nova has been holidaying at Dogwarts to learn to be a bit friendlier around other dogs. Looks like she's doing well

15.01.2022 Can you remember when you last updated your WordPress website and the plugins you use? Better go check if you can’t! Because the latest WordPress 5.5 update is Breaking Sites! Before completing any major update there are a few things we suggest you do to ensure your site won’t break!... Complete a full backup of your current site so if something does go wrong you can go back to how it was. Ensure all of your plugins and themes are up to date first. Update your site locally or on a staging site and test it thoroughly before updating the live version. If you’ve updated and are having issues WordPress has released a plugin that will restore the full function of a website. The plugin is Enable jQuery Migrate Helper. It’s been downloaded 10,000 times in the last few days since its release! But if you are like us and hate problems and would rather be proactive rather than reactive, there are a few things you can do to avoid having these issues altogether! When building a website with WordPress there are some important things to consider and they all revolve around what Plugins and Theme you use. It’s crucial that you look into a plugin before adding it to your site. How many downloads has it had? Who developed it? Do you really need it? And most importantly when it was last updated? It’s vital to only use plugins that are reputable and are updated regularly. If a plugin hasn’t been updated in over a year, we’d suggest finding an alternative to use. These old abandoned plugins create many problems for WordPress websites. They become a huge security risk for your site. Increasing the potential of your site being hacked! Your site doesn’t work or look like it once did, detracting from the aesthetics of your website and branding. Broken pages also have high abandonment rates meaning visitors will leave your site quickly, often before you’ve relayed any important information to them.

13.01.2022 It was great to work alongside the volunteers at the Cancer Fighting Fund NW Tas Inc to help recreate their website. We designed a user-friendly website that is now much easier to navigate and use. Also included in the new design was an online donation portal to help assist with the Cancer Fighting Fund's fundraising efforts. Originally the site only had a PayPal button to that appeared untrustworthy. The new donations page is designed to provide visitors with the confidence ...and knowledge their money is going to a good cause, securely. This inclusion has already lead to an increase in online donations! The committee does some fantastic work supporting those in our community affected by cancer. Go check out their new website, let us know what you think and if you can donate to a wonderful cause! Feel free to share this post to help spread the word https://cancerfightingfundnwtas.org.au/

06.01.2022 Here's another website we developed and launched last week for Coastal Group Car Care. Having an easy to use landing page is a crucial part of any successful advertising campaign.

04.01.2022 Click Click Click Have you ever run a google ads campaign and not seen the results you thought you would get? Did you know that at least 40% of internet traffic is non-human (bot traffic)? ... Some of these click bots are designed to commit PPC click fraud. Besides the bots, your competitors could be clicking on your ads and wasting your budget with each click they make. Even worse than bots and your competitors are click farms.. Click farms set up large scale banks of cheap computers and phones, and staff them with low-paid workers who constantly click on ads to fool advertisers into thinking they're getting their money's worth. They are usually hired by your competition to remove your PPC ads from the search engine's results pages that they are competing with you on. We recently had a client that was a victim of some serious click fraud. For a couple of weeks, he saw a huge drop in leads coming into his business. After a quick audit we noticed clicks coming in from other countries and multiple clicks coming from the same IP address. Thankfully, things are now back to normal and his business is back on track. We use the brilliant Clickcease platform for all our clients that wish to run ad campaigns. Clickcease helps prevent shady click fraud tactics wasting your ad spend. With the help of Clickcease we are able to: Track each and every click on your ads, collecting valuable data and information to gain insight into how your ads are interacted with. Use industry leading algorithms to separate real potential customers from fraudsters and bots. Detect artificial clicks and hide your ad from the fraudster. If you are thinking of running ads for your business or think you may be a victim of click fraud, why not get in touch with us today to see how we can help you! https://tarkinecreative.com.au/ads/
