16.01.2022 Working Bee with Ten on Creek Embankment TEN (Taroona Environment Network) are going to hold a working bee in the school grounds on Sunday April the 6th from 10am 'til noon. They are hoping to get as many volunteers from school parents as possible. We may have a get-together over a cuppa or barbecue lunch afterwards. TEN will provide gloves, tools etc but if you have a favourite pair of gloves bring them along - and wear sturdy shoes and tough clothing (there are many spiky weeds growing on the bank above the creek and it is very steep!).

10.01.2022 New Library Our new library is ready to use and I must say it looks fantastic! I would like to thank all parent volunteers who have helped out with setting up the new library, in particular our Library Technician Kristina Marsh, who has done a fantastic job transforming the building into a great space for our students to use. Kristina‘s creative flair is very evident in the new library space. There will be a library opening at 2.30pm next Monday with parents and school commu...nity members more than welcome to come along and have a look at the new library space. Students will commence using the new library form Monday next week. Parent / Teacher Discussion Week Brief Prep Grade 6 student progress reports will be sent home next Friday 21st March. This will be followed by parent/teacher discussions during the week beginning 31st March. As has been the case in previous years, we have an online‘ booking system for parents to use. Parents can from today book into their parent teacher interview at http://taroonaps.setmore.com/ This new site is much easier to use then our old system and will be available for the next fortnight (until the 28th March). Any parent without internet access can make a booking with Owen Tubb in the Grade 6 room after school between 3:00-3:30. Inter School Athletic Carnival A team of around 60 students will represent the school at the Domain Athletics Centre in the A Division Athletics Carnival next Thursday 20th March, commencing at 10.30a.m. Parents are more than welcome to come along and support our athletes. Good luck to all participants. Painting of Grade 3/4 Classroom Block The Grade 3/4 block of classrooms (Middle Block) will be re-painted on the outside sometime this year, and some inside areas also if funding permits. We will very soon be seeking quotes for this project, so if there are any qualified painters in our community who are interested in having a look at this job, please contact Grant or Bianca at the school office. Congratulations To: All grades 3 6 students who have been selected in the TPS Athletics Team to represent our school next Thursday. Grant Robinson Principal

04.01.2022 National Excellence in Teaching Awards (NEiTA) As some parents would know, Bobby Pedersen received a state excellence in teaching award as a part of the above NEiTA system, after being nominated by a group of parents at our school. It now gives me great pleasure to announce to our school community that Bobby was recently announced as one of twelve only national recipients at the next stage of this award program. This is a fantastic achievement for Bobby and a great reflection... on the overall quality of teaching at our school. Bobby is one of many highly skilled and committed teachers at our school, all striving for the best results for our learners and this award will further enhance the school’s reputation as a place where we all work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students. Bobby will be in Melbourne today attending a ceremony to receive her award. Well done Bobby!
