25.01.2022 $16.00 Makanai Ramen... Well if Queen and Ascot are getting stuffed with Jiro, Express will bring out its own version of a food fight dish for the hungry horses. Makanai translates to "staff meal". Features a whopping 300g of second grade noodles and 450cc of soup. (Usual serve is 110g noodles and 300cc soup). Topped with pork cheek and bamboo. Guaranteed to make you full. *Second grade noodles. At our Ascot and Queen stores, our noodle makers are making hundreds of serves of noodles around the clock. They hand pick the best ones for the regular ramen, and any short or slightly imperfect strands are kept aside as seconds. Only at Edward, only when second grade noodle stock is available.

24.01.2022 Dear Customers, As of March 30th 2019, Taros Express will cease trading and as of April 1 2019, reborn as Taros Vegan Ramen. The new shop will be entirely vegan/vegetarian, an oasis of healthy but totally tasty ramen in the CBD. ... My mission, as always, is creating a truly delicious authentic ramen that happens to be vegan and not the other way around. After numerous trial and errors, last April I came up with a recipe that I was happy with as a start and put it on the menu at our South Brisbane store. I have since added a few revisions to the recipe and the latest change is adding konnyaku in the noodles which will add an extra bounce in the texture to really improve on a lacking point in the initial recipe. As we speak the vegan ramen is getting really popular at South Brisbane and there have been numerous enquiries to offer it at other locations. Until now, our South Brisbane store was the only store with a kitchen large enough to be able to offer it concurrently with the other ramens but I have now decided to let the Edward St location have a go in offering it as the main and only product. Dear Regular Customer, I thank you so much for supporting and enjoying Taros Express for the past 3.5 years. I would like to ask you a final favour. Please, try the vegan ramen once, even if you are not vegan or any kind of healthie. Myself and all our staff are testimonials. It is worth it! Real ramen without the guilt. I think it definitely serves as a valid once a week option for all of us. If you dont love it, if you prefer the original pork bone or the chicken and dashi broths, I am sorry for closing your favourite location. But I love you either way because as you know, I am as crazy as I am with the standard ramens, forever fondling and tweaking the recipe and it is great to have audiences appreciating both. So in that case, if you can please consider walking a few more blocks and head up to our Queen St shop or cross the river to South Brisbane, I would really appreciate it. 17.01.2022 Hi Everyone, It is with great regret we announce the closure of our shop at this 288 Edward St location. The development plans for the building have accelerated and we are forced to close earlier than expected. Our last trading day will be Wednesday May 29th 2019. ... Since moving in on August 2015 as a temporary shop after the closure of our original 363 Adelaide St location, it has been a pleasure serving our long time customers for over 3.5 years until the end of Taros Express, and 2 months serving new vegan customers and open-minded customers that have turned occasionally herbivorous after the opening of Taros Vegan Ramen. Although the closure was always in the plans, it is still sad and I am so disappointed that it has to be so soon. The Vegan Ramen venture has been a fun and interesting journey and we may revisit this brand at a later date. After the closure I intend to add the Vegan Ramen to the Queen St menu to keep this option available in the CBD. 14.01.2022 Hi everyone. As mentioned in the previous post, we have closed Taros Vegan Ramen. Our vegan ramen range is now available at the following Taros Ramen outlets as a permanent addition to the menu. Taros Ramen - Queen St ... 480 Queen St, Brisbane CBD Taros Ramen - South Brisbane 154 Melbourne St, South Brisbane Taros Ramen - Stones Corner 16 Old Cleveland Rd, Stones Corner The Stones Corner shop has slightly more variation with the normal vegan ramen range plus the cold dipping tsukemen and we are working to bring in a few monthly vegan specials in the future, maybe the likes of the popular cold soy milk tantanmen when it gets hotter. 13.01.2022 Okinawan Mozuku (seaweed super food). The slippery texture is famous with core Japanese food fans but have you had one this crunchy? We import ours from Okinawa unflavoured/unpickled so there isn[t that nasty high fructose sweetness. Have it with olive oil and tomato or with house made ponzu, or add it to your ramen. ...
