24.01.2022 Winding its way 110 kilometres across the mountains through fern-filled national #parks, the Grand #Strzelecki Track was opened in 2012. Despite being less than... half an hour from the towns of #Churchill, #Traralgon and #Yarram, the track could now be closed as volunteers struggle to maintain it. One of the builders of the track, Kevin Heggen had a chat with us on ABC Gippsland this morning, along with Pat Williams from the South #Gippsland #Walking and #Adventure Club. 07.01.2022 Tarra-Bulga National Park in Central Gippsland is known for its giant Mountain Ash trees, beautiful fern gullies and ancient myrtle beeches. The park is jointly... managed by Gunaikurnai Traditional Owners and Parks Victoria. As you wander along the walking tracks, keep an ear out for the melodies of the Superb Lyrebird. Stroll along Corrigans Suspension Bridge, overlooking the forest floor below. 03.01.2022 Ventured into Cyathea falls along the Tarra Valley Loop (23km) of the Grand Strzelecki Track. Definitely worth the hike to see this and other falls nearby.
