25.01.2022 Regretfully we have to announce that the Federal Government have decided that there cannot be any gatherings of 500+ people other than for the likes of school, shopping, church etc. This means we have no choice but to postpone the 2020 Tarra Festival Parade, Fireworks and Markets. This does not necessarily mean that all events planned for over the Tarra Festival will be cancelled as that's the call of individual community groups not the Tarra Festival Committee. We are wa...iting for word on what they're planning and will let you know as soon as we know. When we say "postponed" we haven't set a date and it may indeed end up postponed till 2021. We just don't know at this stage because the event ban is indefinite and obviously there needs to be lots of discussions with the Committee, Community Groups, Sponsors etc. It goes without saying that we're all devastated by this as its the first time in 48 years the Tarra Festival hasn't happened. It's going to have a huge impact on the businesses of this town and I think we all need to do whatever we can personally to support local business. More information as soon as we have it.

It was even more extraordinary given that the Committee budget was $15!
