25.01.2022 Today was our first home game at Shark Park and boy was it a great turn out. A lot different to what we are normally use to but we had great support from everyone from their vehicles including a few locals coming down. Thank you everyone for helping us stick by the rules.

18.01.2022 Hi All, The Annual General Meeting of the Tarwin Football / Netball Club will be taking place at our social rooms on Sunday 6/12/2020 at 2pm. All positions will be declared vacant and nomination forms can be obtained from myself, Katie or Crackers. Please note, the meeting will be held in person whilst complying with all relevant Covid protocols. I can also advise you all that the junior arm of our club is in the process of applying to join the Central Gippsland Junior Footba...ll League from season 2021 onwards. The reasoning behind this decision is logistical in that our senior club is moving that way too and by our juniors following suit it will strengthen the relationship between the junior and senior arm of our club and also the age groups our kids will be playing in. The CGJFL will have age groups of under 9’s, 11’s, 13’s & 15’s from next year while the South Gippsland Junior Football League will remain at under 10’s, 12’s & 14’s meaning our juniors will face the very daunting jump of going from under 14’s to under 18’s as the Mid Gippsland league will only have an under 18 competition. We understand this is a significant shift and would encourage any players, parents or supporters who have any questions to contact myself, Crackers or our junior co-ordinator, Jason McRae. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Sunday the 6th December Tom Williamson President

18.01.2022 Get voting everyone!! Takes 2 mins!!

12.01.2022 Well as we have all seen we will be back to stage 3 restrictions as of Wednesday night for all our junior footballers it is sad to say football has come to a stand still once again. No training no games. All the kids have had a great few weeks and we have seen some really good junior football. Stay tuned for updates and we will let you know as soon as we know any more news. Stay safe everyone and stay home GO SHARKS!!

11.01.2022 Hi all just a few things regarding Junior football. A decision has been made not to run the canteen on Sunday. We are trying to reduce as much crowd congestion as possible at these difficult times. So with that we please ask all those attending if you could please try and stay in or around your vehicles and keep your 1.5m social distance. We appreciate your support. GO SHARKS!!!

10.01.2022 Last night our Junior Sharks trained ahead of their first game on Sunday. Jumper presentation was very different this year but that didn’t wipe those big grins away, we have some very excited children. Good luck to all our coaches and kids. GO SHARKS!!!

09.01.2022 JUNIOR FOOTBALL 10’s and 12’s!!! This Thursday 25th June training will re commence at 5.00pm. Due to the Covid by-laws all children will need to be signed in. Hands will need to be sanitized and we ask you to bring own water bottles. Parents if you could get the kids to training a little bit earlier to allow time for these things would be appreciated. As stated previously we ask all parents to remain in their cars.... Look forward to seeing you all again at Shark Park!! See more

08.01.2022 Hi All, As per my last update, I can advise that the information session planned for Thursday at 7pm will be conducted via Zoom. For those who are unaware, Zoom is a free app that can be downloaded onto your computer, tablet or smart phone that allows up to 100 people to join a video conference call. If you do not already have the app, please download and run a test to ensure you know how to use the programme. I’m sure we all have a tech savvy child, grandchild or the like wh...o can help you if you need any assistance. From there I will send out a log in code via email and Facebook approximately 20 minutes before the meeting starts that will give everyone plenty of time to join the meeting. Crackers and I will have our phones on if you want to text through any questions during the meeting as we will have everyone on ‘mute’ to avoid having several people talking at the one time. If you would like to send through questions before the meeting please do to myself on 0438 083 588 or Crackers on 0438 635 283 Zoom only allows for a maximum meeting time of 40 minutes which coincides well with Carlton starting at 7:40 so will be done by then. I hope to see as many of you logged in as possible but I am happy to answer any questions you may have privately too. Thanks, Tom

06.01.2022 Re: Cancellation of Alberton FNL 2020 Season The Alberton FNL Board of Management and its member Clubs have decided that, due to the current State government C...ovid19 restrictions, the 2020 season will be cancelled. The Board of Management and clubs are in agreeance that this decision will reduce any risk to their valued members, players, volunteers and supporters in the current climate. The decision has also taken into account many components which restrict the number of paying patrons permitted entry into games and restrictions with canteens and bars, which would greatly affect the financial position of clubs. The majority of clubs have cited difficulty in maintaining their volunteer base due to many elderly members being unavailable due to the risks associated with the current pandemic. This decision is not taken lightly, but taken in the interests of all participants for their current and future wellbeing and wish everyone a safe and healthy 2020. LYNN WHELAN AFNL League Coordinator SIGNED ON BEHALF OF: Alberton FNL Board of Management Members AFNL Clubs Fish Creek, Foster, MDU, Stony Creek, Tarwin & Toora

05.01.2022 Hi All, I can confirm that season 2020 has officially been abandoned as of today. As it currently stands, our under 10’s, 12’s and 14’s remain on track to begin their season on 12th July and we are working on a proposal that will see our under 17, 15 and hopefully 13 netball sides have the chance to play and compete this year too. Laura McRae is working on making this happen and will be calling all parents and players to gauge interest in this proposal in the coming days.... As you would no doubt be aware there has been some significant movement in our club and leagues future over the last few weeks with AFL Victoria releasing portions of their G25 review two weeks early noting the Alberton League clubs should be amalgamated into the Mid Gippsland league. This is a solution that all 6 Alberton clubs are fully supportive of and see as the best way forward for all clubs in both the Alberton and Mid Gippsland Leagues. I will be conducting an information and Q&A session via video chat on Thursday at 7pm and will be in touch with you all to advise how to join in the next few days. As always, if anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on 0438 383 588. Thanks, Tom Williamson President

05.01.2022 23 more sleeps...... that’s all there is until the Southern Gippsland Junior Football Competition for 2020 is intended to commence. After a positive and produc...tive meeting last night with all SGJFC clubs represented, planning is now underway for a much anticipated Sunday 12 July start to the 2020 season, pending approval from the appropriate authorities. The SGJFC welcome the recent State Government news announcing community sport can commence playing as early as next week. Subject to the release of AFL Victoria’s return to play protocols and clarity from the State Government around crowd sizes/control etc, the SGJFC club presidents have agreed on a season where every team will play each other once prior to a finals series. The finals series will conclude with a grand final on either Sunday 13 September or Sunday 20 September (yet to be determined). The fixture and operational requirements for the SGFNC are now being prepared in preparation for the next SGFNC meeting scheduled for 30 June 2020.
