18.01.2022 Firefighters "ALL SMOKE IS TOXIC!" All Firefighters have the right to Respiratory Protection! "No matter what Fire Service/Brigade, they all have a "D...uty of Care" to ensure that every member is trained in Positive Pressure Breathing Apparatus, and have that equipment available, at all times. All Firefighters need to have the training to rescue anyone in distress (working in pairs), at "any type of fire/incident!" If you haven't got BA, MAKE YOURSELVES HEARD and get them! 08.01.2022 Queensland’s aerial firefighting capability has soared to new heights with the addition of a Large Air Tanker (LAT) to the QFES fleet. The LAT is based at Bunda...berg Airport and can operate at many regional airports throughout the State. It can travel about 670km/hr and land with 80% of its load on board. The LAT weighs in at around 31,000kg and it has a retardant capacity of 10,000L! Check out this video to see the LAT in action at the official launch today.

03.01.2022 HOUSE FIRES KILL, AND THEY KILL FAST. When you‘re asleep you lose your sense of smell. A smoke alarm is your electronic nose. It will alert you if there is ...smoke from a fire and allow you time to escape. If you don’t have a working smoke alarm installed in your home and a fire occurs, you are: 57% more likely to suffer property loss and damage 26% more likely to suffer serious injuries Four times more likely to die. It is recommend that Photoelectric Smoke Alarms with a 10-year lithium battery are interlinked. This small cost may one day save your or another's life - could you live with the regret of failing to install one?

02.01.2022 The Royal Australian Mint has today launched a commemorative $2 coin to honour those who battled the horrific 2019/20 summer bushfires, recognising the deter...mination and commitment of our Firefighting communities across Australia. The coin will feature a blaze of orange in the centre, with female and male Firefighters either side of it, ready for action. $125,000 of the proceeds from the sale of the coins will go to Fire and Emergency service organisations across the country.
