08.01.2022 Hey Reptile Rescue Inc Tas Rangers and supporters would like to let you know we have a huge day at Bunnings Mornington store next Sat 21st Dec , we will be runn...ing the bbq and also have a display set up teaching snake awareness and Safety as it’s been very busy of late with snake activity and it’s only going to get crazier as it warms up , So I’ve organised this little event to get the message out there on what to do and who to call All proceeds will go back into Reptile Rescue Inc and would help buy some promo material such as stickers and magnets and help with other costs , would be great if you could all take an hour out of your day and come and say hello grab a Snag and support our organisation would also be good if you would like to man the bbq for an hour or so let me know if you can and we may try and work our a roster system. Unfortunately our Scaly critters often miss out on funding or donations and a lot is done from our own pockets which is why we are doing this event should be a great day look fwd to seeing you all there See more

07.01.2022 A lot of people ask me about how sea turtles emerge and hatch out of their nest. After following biologists, hiking the beaches for nearly 10 years I’ve only... seen a handful emerge in front of me but have seen stragglers a lot. As sand temps get hotter the nests start to get too hot, thus causing them to emerge in daylight. It is not a good thing that we are seeing more of these day time emergences. Shot this with my phone as I waited for almost 1hr 45 mins once we saw a few heads at the surface sleeping at sunrise. Most of the nest has already hatched during the night. It is very important to not disturb them even though time is ticking and the sun was getting higher and higher. Much longer and the late hatchlings would have been taken by biologists to be released at night.
