23.01.2022 Our latest Polished Block project is coming out of the ground in Hobart. This is the first glimpse of our Polished Glacier coloured block on this project - more picks to come. The Polished Glacier block will eventually form an internal feature wall creating a striking effect. In order to capitalise on this features of this block the Architect - Urban Design Initiative has called for a Stack Bonded Wall.

23.01.2022 A private residence near Deloraine was recently constructed using the Tasco Signature Series - Smooth Face block in a custom made Limestone colour. This was a uniquely designed residence with a specific brief from the client: - Strong wide solid sounding external walls. - Veneer construction to accommodate insulation. - Wide window reveals to accommodate custom made timber window frames.... - Exterior walls to have a Limestone type appearance in a large block (200 x 400), size. - Corner blocks of the residence to protrude 10mm from line of the wall to create an old town colonial effect. In response to this brief Tasco Blocks and Pavers we were able to assist with the building design and develop a custom colour to meet the clients requirements. Product used - 150mm wide Block used in a veneer construction method to achieve the wall width and solid sounding walls as required. - 200mm blocks were used on the corners of the residence in order to provide the 10mm protrusion from the line of the wall. - Blocks were produced in a custom made Limestone colour. This is a beautifully designed home with a well-planned colonial theme. The Tasco Blocks and Pavers custom Signature Series blocks suited the design brief perfectly. 22.01.2022 Machine Operator Concrete Masonry Plant Tasco Blocks and Pavers is a privately owned and operated manufacturer of quality concrete masonry products, located on the Bass Highway in Burnie, Tasmania. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our production team in the operation of the masonry manufacturing plant. About the Role... This position is a hands on role responsible for the day to day operation of the concrete block manufacturing machine, ensuring that all requirements for production are achieved in a safe and economical manner. We are seeking applications from individuals who have experience in a batch manufacturing environment, including machine setup, operation and general maintenance. Industry experience would be highly regarded, however this is an exciting opportunity to be trained in the process of concrete masonry production. Duties / Responsibilities Undertake initial daily machine set up relevant to product specifications and SOP. Assist with the overall daily pre-production plant set up and end of day clean up. Operation of the block manufacturing machine within operators guidelines and SOPs. Maintain a high level of quality control of finished product. Monitor the operation of associated plant and equipment to ensure the production process is working efficiently. Preparing, assembling, checking and cleaning moulds. Undertake machine mould changes as required to meet production planning requirements. Assist with production planning to maximise plant efficiency. Undertake regular maintenance schedules on block machine and associated equipment. Willingness to undertake extra activities and duties as required throughout the production process. Adhere to Tascos Occupational Health & Safety Policies at all times. Skills / Experience required Must Haves: Experience operating production equipment including machine setup and general maintenance. Attention to detail. Be physically fit and healthy able to carry out occasional manual lifting and movement of product up to 20kg. Be able to problem solve issues around the plant and equipment. A demonstrated mechanical aptitude with experience as a Fitter or TA. Positive communication skills and enjoy working as part of a small team. Results focussed and self-motivated. Hold a current Forklift Licence. Wages Wages will be paid in accordance with the Concrete Products Award. Due to our commitment to OH&S, this workplace is a drug and alcohol free environment. 04.01.2022 Over 1400m2 (almost 9,000 pavers) of specially designed Honed concrete pavers were supplied by Tasco in the redevelopment of King Street Smithton. Tasco Blocks and Pavers worked closely with the Strategic Projects Office in Smithton and the Circular Head Council to formulate a special mix design for a paver colour and aggregate type to suit the design requirements of the project. All product was produced and Honed at Tasco Blocks and Pavers Burnie.... Finished pavements were then sealed with Dry-Treat Stainproof for a permanent protection of the paved areas.
