23.01.2022 Three of our Favourite Peony Roses in our current catalogue are Shirley Temple, Felix Supreme, & Red Magic Shirley Temple starts as a soft pink bud, that burst out into a pale pink blossom before maturing into an ivory white eye catcher whether in the garden or the vase. A loosely packed double, noted for its ruffled petals. Its delightful fragrance coupled with extra long stems make it a favourite to cut. Felix Supreme is very popular for its rich hot pink, lightly scented..., double flowers. Red Magic has huge blooms made up of a mass of twisted deep red petals, that darken to an even deeper crimson near the centre. 19.01.2022 Bills simple Peony tips -Peonys love a good frost, so pick a frosty spot in your garden- somewhere well drained, that receives half sun to full sun is ideal. In wetter laying gardens, raised beds may improve your peonys growing conditions. -They respond well to dolomite lime and enjoy plenty of humus in the soil.... -Plant root stock so as the crown (bit where it shoots from) is about an inch (2-3 cm) underground. As summer starts, Peonys transform form a glossy green shrub into a mould of colour. Each bush covered in striking perfumed blooms. Bills quick tips for growing Liliums are; Pick a spot that has full sun to half shade half shaded areas will encourage improved stem length on flowers.... Plant them 3-4 deep (thats around 7-10 cm) They enjoy a good dose of a quality general purpose fertiliser. Liliums appreciate cool feet, so perform well when mulched. Plant in a well-drained spot, in wetter areas, raised beds are recommended. Once planted, Liliums can stay in the ground for years whilst forming large clumps. Our most popular Lilium is Dalian for its stunning rich red blooms with a pinkish tinge. Great cut flower. Dalians are 5 for $12.50 A great choice to contrast Dalian is Santander.
