25.01.2022 Update on Coronavirus (Covid-19). We recognise that these are unprecedented circumstances, and there are questions around how Covid-19 will impact you, your bus...iness and the wider industry. Dairy Australia is working to develop information specific to our industry that will assist employers and employees to understand their responsibilities around Covid-19. In the interim, we advise employers to follow the recommendation provided by the Federal Government: https://bit.ly/2Qpd6rM In line with recommendations of Government and health professionals, we are reducing face-to-face events, workshops and meetings. However, rest assured we are here to support you, and encourage you to continue to reach out to us through our usual channels. We will continue to share updates as they are available, and encourage you to follow the latest advice from the Department of Health.

21.01.2022 If you are involved in the Tasmanian organic dairy industry, I am keen to hear from you. The TIA dairy extension team is in the process of planning our five-year extension program. I would like to know what extension support, if any, might be required by organic dairy farmers. I have organised a lunch at TIAs Dairy Research Facility tomorrow (Thursday) for anyone who would like to join in a discussion. If you cant make it for lunch, please let me know your thoughts my sending an email to [email protected] or phone me on 0428 880 287.

20.01.2022 Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19). It is important we remain vigilant to protect ourselves against the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia. Dairy farmers have a number of options to prepare their business and make contingency plans, and should consider:... - Protecting staff from exposure - Impact on business and ability to operate - Operating with limited labour - Checking availability of goods Stay up to date and access the latest advice from the Department of Health: https://bit.ly/3cVw2rG

For the Bradleys and Greenacres they will be wo...rking towards a cost of production of $4/kg MS while exceeding Best Management Practices in animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and staff satisfaction. Working with the Bradleys and Greenacres throughout the project will be Jeremy Savage a dairy consultant from Canturbury, New Zealand who works closely with Lincoln University Dairy Farm. Jeremy will be working closely with local Fonterra Farm Source Paddock Specialist Richard Rawnsley, who will be the Focus Farms on-the-ground consultant. Meet the focus farm team, including the local support group members, over the next few weeks. 14.01.2022 Conference Cancelled In the last few days the DairyTas Board and Staff have been carefully considering the impact of the COVID-19 virus on the upcoming 2020 Tasmanian Dairy Conference and Awards Dinner. Given the impact of travel restrictions on guest speakers, and the risk to attendees, the decision has been made to cancel the events. Due to the calibre of speakers, the support of sponsors and the quality of nominations received for the various awards, it is disappointing no...t to hold the event but believe it is the right decision to make. We are currently looking at the most effective way to issue refunds. In the coming weeks we will look at rescheduling the Awards dinner as a standalone event to recognise a number of exceptional businesses and individuals from across the industry. If you have any queries please contact the DairyTas office on (03) 6432 2233. Cancellation also includes associated events (Pre-Conference Tour and YDN Annual Dinner)
