24.01.2022 No one deserves to have their gear stolen, especially when that gear is needed for your job. Keep an eye out.

24.01.2022 Welcome Dion Davies to the Tasgear family Finally

24.01.2022 I was lucky enough to tag along with the lovely guys from bushwalking Tasmania social group for a walk up Ragged Jack. Smoke from bushfires meant no view but still a good walk.

23.01.2022 Do you want to save some Tasmanian manufacturing jobs? These guys make Smitten merino gear and need your help

19.01.2022 All right Tasgear followers. Another where am I. Where is this excellent Tasmanian alpine hut located? Should be fairly easy but still worth putting the picture up, such a nice hut in a beautiful spot.

18.01.2022 Been a while so I thought I better post something. Which summit was I on this arvo? No prize this time, just for fun

18.01.2022 Looking across Pelion Plains towards Mount Oakleigh with a bit of morning mist thrown in for good measure. I was glad to be up early

16.01.2022 Finally back on the machine catching up on all the orders. Thanks everyone for your patience.

15.01.2022 Hi all Tasgear will be be taking a semi-permanent break from producing our gaiters. I'd like to thank all the loyal customers and people who have spread the word about our products. Life gets in the way sometimes and this is one of those times. I will still be doing any warranty repairs of course but no new gaiters will be made for the foreseeable future.

15.01.2022 Hi All For those interested in a little of the how and why behind me and Tasgear I should be on ABC Northern Tasmania local radio this afternoon just after the 2 pm news. I’ll try and post a link to the recording after the interview if you miss it.

14.01.2022 Another green pair of gaiters being put together for a customer who wasn't keen on the standard black. This pair was made extra tall as an additional custom feature at no extra cost.

14.01.2022 Tarkine exploitation of the very good kind! Get involved

14.01.2022 So didn’t make it up Mt Oakliegh as planned but did make it up Pelion East. Weather was perfect

11.01.2022 The online store in back up and running! Please visit https://tasgear.com.au/collections/all if you’re interested in a pair of gaiters that will last

11.01.2022 Back on the sewing machine.

10.01.2022 Lake Malbena is about to annexed and for the exclusive use of a tourism operator to run a luxury resort. This noticed is posted to a tree on the island apparently this informs everyone on the development application in our world heritage area. If you value Tasmania's public wild places and don't want them sold off then maybe consider writing a submission to the email address on this notice. Our national parks should not be for sale!

07.01.2022 The time has come for Tasgear to go back into production! That's right, the toughest gaiters in the world will be available again to the bushwalking community. The website should be live again so all systems go. Any questions message me or email [email protected]

04.01.2022 Local manufacturer Tasfab make our unique aluminium under cord attachment pieces. We could get these imported and probably save money but supporting local manufacturers is part of Tasgear’s business model. Where ever possible we use local suppliers in our gaiters. This lot are ready to go in the tumbler!

02.01.2022 A recent investment in the Tasgear production. A second hand Australian made Lightning cutter. Allows me to cut 5 layers of heavy fabric in one pass.

02.01.2022 Hello to everyone. First of all apologies for my absence and lack of responses over the last year and a bit. I took a position working in Antarctica with the Australian Antarctic Program. The good news is that my gaiters are available again for anyone that's interested. I am having website dramas that I am trying to sort out but in the meantime please send a message to the Facebook page or call me on 0458132441 to arrange a set for you.
