25.01.2022 You can survive a stroke - Matt did - here's his story https://tasmanianiconicwalks.org/stroke-survivor-matt-pico/

25.01.2022 Our board meetings are getting closer together as the walk is coming up so fast! It's just around the corner so today's discussion was logistics, to-do lists and details, details, details.

25.01.2022 More track talks - spring blossom! You are going to love this!!

24.01.2022 Getting ready: This week’s hiking tip Do little, often. Hike several times a week and, by hike, that does also mean street walking as not everyone is lucky enough to access bush daily. Start building the habit of regular walking. #tiw2020 #fightstroke #hikefit #tasmanianwalks

24.01.2022 Ok your registration is in and it's time to start the fundraising ... If you are looking for ideas, here's a suggestion from our friends at Stroke Foundation: High tea Organise a delicious high tea for you and your friends. You could bake yourself, or approach businesses to donate the produce.... (Photo by Jelleke Vanooteghem)

23.01.2022 Read this ... no one is immune. Amazing rehab work Matt.

21.01.2022 How good did that feel? Emerging from the bush and walking down on to gorgeous Fortescue Bay beach! Here's some shots of our teams as they near the finish of our Tasmanian Iconic Walk 2020 and of the friendly echidna who greeted so many walkers.

20.01.2022 More inspiration from yesterday’s walk - Tasman Arch to Fortescue Bay. Who is getting excited?? Here’s the halfway point time wise - and a great place for lunch. Eagles lookout.

15.01.2022 Here's a great fundraising idea from some of our teams this year: 2PM Services are holding a quiz night. With the cost of venue hire donated to support this great cause, our very own Linda Britts acting as quiz master, and supper and some prizes donated, it's such a fun way to raise money! And who doesn't love a quiz night?!

15.01.2022 Only 6 weeks until we walk! The countdown is most definitely on... #tiw2020 #fightstroke

Thanks to Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, Port Arthur Motor Inn and Paddy Pallin for the lovely prizes. We will announce 2021 event dates in the new year.

12.01.2022 Today 4 of the Tas Iconic Walks board will walk the trail. We dropped a car at the end ..... keep watching today for photos. #fightstroke. #tasmanianiconicwalks.

11.01.2022 With just under 7 weeks to go, you should be well into your preparation. The feedback we got from our 2019 participants highlighted one thing when it came to fitness: hills! Here are just a few of the comments - Start early especially some hill work. - Do hill work.... - walking up and down rocks and steps - Get in as many hill walks as possible before hand. - I had walked some hills around my house to gauge my fitness but they were not a good comparison. - Commit and start training as early as possible. Mix up the training and definitely include stair climbing. See more

11.01.2022 First board meeting since our event November 7 - that seems so long ago - just 3 weeks though! Finalising our survey for our participants took up the bulk of todays meeting but the feeling was "we did good" with our participants raising almost $70,000, 100% of this going to Stroke Foundation. We are an independent not for profit organisation, run by volunteers, and we have big hearts and dreams of making a difference. Our key message is "improving your levels of physical activity reduce your risk of stroke" We hope you got this message and share it with your friends and families! #tasmanianiconicwalks #fightstroke
