24.01.2022 Our small construction / contracting company is hoping to enter a stage of further growth. - For the past 9 years that we have been performing works to projects on remote Aboriginal communities throughout the Northern Territory, we have predominantly been engaged as hands on project managers by Non for Profit PBI,s. This has allowed us to play significant roles in assisting these organisations to reach their goals & grow their businesses in a financially sustainable way. ...Most projects, although fixed price Commercial Contracts, have involved a high level of training & engagement with Local people from every community we have worked on. Our company has taken a great deal of pride in watching people, who in some cases have never had a job before, gain skills & succeed in their roles to become valued team members. The future goals of Tasman Contractors is to now engage with any parties who would like to work with us as partners on future construction projects, while maintaining a focus on assisting people living in remote areas & giving them access to employment opportunities that they may not otherwise get. We are able to assist with tender writing, project planning & logistics & can provide a skilled workforce, who all enjoy passing on their skills to unskilled workers. Please feel free to contact us if you believe our services may suit your needs, or if you would like to discuss any further elements of our capacity. Steve Woolcock - Director & licensed builder PH: 0418 667 228 [email protected]

24.01.2022 Some of the beautiful scenery around Areyonga Community -

22.01.2022 Well it’s been a big couple of weeks, getting everything sorted at Ramingining. We’ve built our 7 man camp, set up a batching plant, including getting all the e...quipment & materials from a barge landing that is 30klms out of town on a rough, wet & muddy road. ( 2 hr trip one way in the new loader ) Due to weather & some logistic issues, we’ve only had limited time to train up the local indigenous guys, who’ve all coped really well & today loaded & supplied the concrete for the first two, new house slabs for Scott Hamett Builders. We have also completed Plumbing & electrical repairs to all the outstation houses at Wulkabimirri & Yathalamarra using two indigenous apprentices & an indigenous trade assistant. I’ve also completed several repairs & maintenance jobs for East Arnhem Shire Council, ASRAC Rangers, the local school & store. Feeling really proud of the all the guys I’m supervising, the great support from Dinybulu & look forward to continuing to manage Bukmak’s construction activities around Ramingining. See more

22.01.2022 Got to try out our new vac truck the other day, worked a treat & I may not always be the best judge of people, but I reckon our local men are thoroughly enjoying the experience they’re getting at fixing up septic tanks & relm drains

19.01.2022 A few progress photos of the Lodge upgrades at Ramingining that we’ve been working on over the last couple of weeks. The use of Surefeet as a footing system worked out very well & allowed us a lot of flexibility in the build program

16.01.2022 Soon to commence at Lake Jindabyne

13.01.2022 We’re currently installing some new demountable units for increased accommodation at Dinybulu Lodge & extra rooms for NT Carers at Ramingining. 1st time I’ve us...ed SureFeet as a footing system & so far am quite impressed. We have a chartered barge, 70tonne crane & 4 of the buildings arriving on Friday, 2 of them are 14.4m long x 4m wide so all the posts are in the right spot. See more
