25.01.2022 The refreshed and refurbished TADA website is up. Check out the new game-changer categories for ideas that are bigger than the industry. And a considered expansion of design categories to reflect the work that we are doing in the way we are doing it. Big thanks to those who contributed advice and made recommendations . 24.01.2022 TADA Founder Mark Ringer is speaking at Art Forum this Friday 12.30pm at The Tasmanian College of The Arts, Hunter Street. 'Casting a Bigger Shadow' is the title. Admissions is free and it is open to the public.

24.01.2022 It is busy behind the scenes at TADA with news to come soon. A jury chair has been confirmed and dates are set. Mark your diary for the Presentation Night which will be held on Thursday 25th February and the entry deadline 4pm Friday 19th February. More very soon.

17.01.2022 The TADA website has temporarily gone into, what must be, winter hibernation. Don't worry it will be back shortly.

16.01.2022 10 days until the TADA entry deadline and in a smidgen over a fortnight we'll be in the Founders Room awarding prizes, eating, drinking, celebrating and rubbing shoulders and polishing egos. 13.01.2022 Eating won't be cheating at the TADA presentation night, so the boys from Taco Taco will be live in person serving their fabulous street food, while Society Salamanca have got the celebrations sorted with some local froth, local bubbles and even McHenry's G&Ts.

13.01.2022 There is a huge ambush marketing opportunity for Blundstone at Bellerive Oval with LG being exclusive sponsor of the ICC World Cup. Hundreds of people wearing Blundstones to a match and tipping off the press would be a good start. 12.01.2022 Judging was completed yesterday afternoon and Chairman of Judges Tim Evill is very happy with the shape of the show. Big thanks to jurors Pippa Dickson, Sam Dobie, Chris Rees and Mat Wearne for their scrutiny, insights and good humour. As has been the way in the past TADAs about 50% of the entries have made it through to either Finalist or Prize. Thursday night should be a cracker, but remember, do get organised with your ticket's there will be none at the door.

09.01.2022 Wisdom and courage from Tracey Allen, Principal of Liminal Studios. "I turned down an amazing project today. I’m sharing the reasons why in a hope to stop our race to the bottom! In essence the client (a government agency) was asking to ‘try before they buy’. It wasn’t technically a free pitch but it may have well been. 3 designers were asked to come up with concepts for a small fee - but as we all know the conceptual stage is where most of our time is spent and is our most v...aluable service. Without the ideas there is no value in what we do. I believe that many years as a professional, a portfolio of work, and evidence of your capacity to do the project is enough (remember these are the reasons why you’ve been asked in the first place). If we want to be respected we can’t continue to allow this to happen. The practice of pitching for either nothing or a small fee is in effect asks for people to work for free. If you went to a restaurant and said I’ll give you a couple of dollars to try a few of the dishes and I’ll just pay the full price for the one I like - we’d be kicked out! Same if you went to the doctors - would you dream of saying I’m going to see 3 doctors and the diagnosis I like the best I’ll pay for in full. Could you imagine! Let's stop our race to the bottom." 03.01.2022 Tonight is the night. See you at the Founders Room at 6.30pm. There'll be a finalists gallery, all finalists will get to walk for their certificates and for the first time, physical prizes for prize winners. Food by Taco Taco, drinks by Society Salamanca, coverage by The Mercury, there'll be insights from the jury and the Chairman and general bonhomie. I for one am very much looking forward to it. Mark
