18.01.2022 Announced today: From tomorrow, Monday 6 April, psychologists will be able to apply their usual billing practices (eg, a co-payment) to services provided to som...e clients. Services provided to clients who are concessional, under the age of 16, or in a vulnerable category (ie at risk of COVID-19) must be bulk billed, but for other clients, the services may be bulk billed or psychologists can choose to charge a co-payment. More information to come.



15.01.2022 The APS has recently released some guidelines for working with intimate partner abuse and violence. These have been developed by a consultative group, led by the Women and Psychology Interest Group. PPS Pain ECHO Helping you help people with persistent pain. Learn from the practical experience and knowledge of the Persistent Pain Service (PPS) team and other Tasmanian clinicians and give them the benefit of your experience.... The PPS Pain ECHO sessions involve discussion of de-identified patient cases and short theory presentations. They were designed in consultation with Tasmanian primary health clinicians (thank you to all those who have contributed). The ECHO sessions are online (Zoom). When: 8:30am to 9:30 am, once per fortnight. Start date Tuesday 11 August 2020. Cost: Nil Registration: Visit http://outpatients.tas.gov.au/clinics/pain_management , and click on the link to register for the PPS Pain ECHO (towards the bottom of the page). One registration gives access to all sessions. Also at this site: The calendar for the presentation topics, the Patient Case Presentation form, Project ECHO links and some other resources. Who attends and who can join? The PPS ‘Hub’ includes a Pain Medicine Specialist, a Psychologist, a Physiotherapist, a GP and, occasionally, Guest specialists. The Persistent Pain Service is based at the Royal Hobart Hospital and is the only public Pain Service in Tasmania.
