14.01.2022 Matthew Denholm of The Australian, won the Tasmanian MEDIA, ENTERTAINMENT & ARTS ALLIANCE Best Journalist Award for the second year in a row at the 2012 Tasmanian Media Ball in Hobart. It was a remarkable night for Denholm after he took home five awards including Excellence in Print, Online & Wire Service Award, Comment, Analysis Opinion & Critique Award, Environmental Award, & Feature Writing Award. Alliance’s Tasmanian president Mark Thomas said on Denholm’s achievement, M...atthew Denholm has once again proved himself at the state and national levels. Matt has won five awards at the 2012 Tasmanian media Awards demonstrating both the quality and breadth of his journalism. Judges said on Denholm’s work, Matt’s work in 2011 is a stand out. It demonstrates the quality and depth that can be achieved if journalists are given adequate time and resources to do their job. 05.01.2022 Edith Bevin named Tasmanian Journalist of the Year: Edith Bevin from ABC News Tasmania has won the Journalist of the Year 2013 award at this year’s Tasmanian Media Awards run by the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance. The awards were announced at a cocktail function at The Vue, Customs House Hotel, in Hobart this evening. The award judges said Bevin had covered her round for the ABC with determination and grit Edith has a rare capacity to quickly summarise a complex day’s court hearings or police story clearly and concisely.
