24.01.2022 A few more for the bucket list.

24.01.2022 I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list. ~ Susan Sontag Here are 20 'Tassie Gems' to add to your list. There are simply no words to describe th...e view from Mt Sirius overlooking the breathtaking Lake Oberon in the Southwest National Park, there is nowhere else in the world like Rocky Plains Bay on the South Coast Track, looking South West over Lake Pedder from Mount Eliza on a stunning winter's afternoon is a memory you can treasure for ever, the iconic Cascade Brewery in the early morning light with the ever-present kunanyi/Mt Wellington standing tall in the distance is a classic Hobart scene and the best cure for most things is the fern medicine around the Mount Field National Park. You can take the ultimate selfie from the top of Wellington Falls looking out over the vast wilderness on kunanyi/Mt Wellington, literally climb above the clouds to the summit of Quamby Bluff on the edge of the Great Western Tiers, walk the path to our pioneering past at Waldheim Chalet, capture the magical early morning mood at Dove Lake whilst being drawn to a misty Cradle Mountain in the distance and the Bay of Fires is one of those places you see so many beautiful photos of and yet you’re still absolutely blown away when you see it for yourself. Oh and did we mention we capture a remarkable landscape including the late afternoon light shining on a snow-dusted Mt Geryon and the Du Cane Range in the Tasmanian Central Highlands with Mt Ossa, Mt Pelion East and Cathedral Mountain all in the same frame. We love to share your Tassie videos, photos and stories with the world You can inbox us or post to our wall. If you are on instagram you can tag either of our accounts via the hashtags #TasmaniaGram or #InstaTasmania If you are a local business, artist, charity or group send us a message about promoting you to Tasmania and the world ALSO remember to check out our current Best Tasmanian Wildlife PHOTO Competition with some great prizes (which is the post pinned to the top of our page).

09.01.2022 Tasmania will reopen to most mainland jurisdictions and New Zealand on Monday! Travellers coming from NZ, WA, SA, ACT, NT and QLD will be able to enter the st...ate without quarantining. Tasmanians aren't able to travel to WA and NZ without quarantining for two weeks on arrival at this stage. What does this news mean for you? FULL STORY: https://ab.co/3olFKsV

07.01.2022 "Travelling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller." ~ Ibn Battuta We will all be storytellers again one day soon... here are a few chap...ters to write yourself. Cradle Mountain at night with mirror like reflections and not a soul in sight is so quiet and peaceful and good for the mind, the view towards Lady Luck Hut on the Great Western Tiers is reward in itself but throw in a sunset with a stormy halo and you have a once in a lifetime experience, visit the secret garden and a piece of Tasmania's pioneering history at Yackandandah Hut in the 'Heart of Tasmania', keep with the theme by again slowing down to soak in the sunset at the slice of coastal heaven that is the Bay of Fires and share a spectacular photo capturing the sense of achievement in conquering the Western Arthurs whilst appreciating the beauty of Tasmania and it’s untouched wilderness. Wow is the feeling you describe coming across the Corinna campsite with your very own deck and a view to behold, find beauty above and below the water at Binalong Bay, tell us about wandering through the magnificent Spray Tunnel at Zeehan, discover a 'Stairway to Heaven' at the Bay of Fires and try to put into words the beauty of Gondwanan Pencil Pines that can reach ages in excess of 1200 years. Remind ourselves that Mother Nature is our favourite artist. The pristine coastline, the fresh air, the the sun warming every inch of your being and it feels just like home. It is home. Oh and did we mention you can take one of Tasmania's most rewarding day walks and stand in awe at the base of Tasmania's highest waterfall at over 100 metres plus visit our Wild West Coast and walk along Tassie's longest beach.
