19.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS The annual Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Spring Plant Sale will be on Saturday 26th of September between 10.00am and 3.00pm at the RTBG Nursery. There will be a prelude Sale on Thursday 24th of September entry by $10.00 donation.



16.01.2022 The Tasmanian Community Food Garden has been contributing produce to an innovative program being run in Risdon Vale that aims to inspire men to become more involved in their own nutrition - from growing food through to preparing, cooking and sitting down together to eat it. The emphasis is on using fresh, seasonal local produce - just how fresh is this salad with ingredients harvested from the Food Garden only hours before eating!

13.01.2022 Invitation to join the Veterans' and Families Garden Plot at Tasmanian Community Food Garden: Good evening everyone, after our coldest winter in Hobart in 50 y...ears, Spring is here and we have three events in the next few weeks: 10 Sep 15 (Thursday) - will be our monthly get together. Now is the time to plant, and next week we will sowing seeds and planting seedlings in both our plots. Meet at 12 midday at the Plot. 26 Sep 15 (Saturday) RTBG ANNUAL TOMATO SALE. I am looking for volunteers to help me with the sausage sizzle, and that will give you a pre-sale visit to the Nursery to get your own seedlings before they are all gone. Margot has over 50 types of tomatoes plus other vegetables and plants for sale. Please let me know if you can help on the day, even if it is only for a couple of hours. Note: Margot will have a Pre-Sale Day on Thursday the 24th of September. If you can't make the Saturday and want to get some seedlings, you may want to try on the Thursday. 14 Oct 15 (Wednesday). Veterans Health Week Bus Trip. We will be doing a garden tour with Tino Carnevale as our tour guide. Gardens on the tour are the Hobart City Farm, Corinda Gardens, Government House Gardens and then we will finish at the Plot. Mates4Mates will be providing a BBQ lunch at their Family Recovery Centre.
