Many working hard and not understanding why changes are not seen. This gives us an understanding of the bigger picture.... https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/the-obesity-myth

13.01.2022 For all those Richmond fans out there you may be disappointed to hear that Reece Conca will be sidelined yet again after suffering another injury during Richmonds loss to Adelaide last weekend. Concas form of recent had been consistent and this will be a major setback for him and the club. Club medical staff have indicated that recovery would be 3-6 weeks but as seen before with Collingwoods Dane Swan and Geelongs Mitch Clark, this injury can be difficult to recover fro...m fully due to the load placed through the foot with this particular sport. To clarify why this is a serious injury we must look at Lisfranc injurys in a little more detail. The Lisfranc joint complex is located in the midfoot and includes several joints held tightly together to stablise the arch during activity. The Lisfranc ligament attaches the medial cuneiform to the 2nd metatarsal base on the plantar aspect of the foot and is integral in maintaining this stability. Injury can occur from a simple twist of the foot or from a fall from height with symptoms including pain and swelling in the middle of the foot and bruising on the bottom of the foot. It is essential to seek medical attention if you develop any of these symptoms so that offloading of the tissues and a confirmed diagnosis can be made. In some cases, recovery may require an offloading boot but in severe cases surgery is needed to re-establish congruency in the joint complex. Make an appointment with us to start your recovery. http://www.afl.com.au//inform-tiger-reece-conca-injures-li

Two fractures in this bone would require intense force. http://www.bbc.com/sport/winter-olympics/43071383

11.01.2022 As summer slowly disappears we start to see people entering the clinic reporting cold feet, numbness in the toes and more severely chilblains. Many people believe they have problems with the main blood supply to the feet however if these symptoms come and go then it could be due to a medical condition called Raynauds phenomenon. 03.01.2022 Most of us dread the cooler months especially when we get into the depths of Tassies winter but those with arthritic joint pain seem to suffer the most and new research may prove why. New studies are investigating the hyperactivity of sympathetic nerves around joints (responsible for opening and closing blood vessels to allow heat to be retained). This hyperactivity has been shown to also increase pain felt around the joint. The best way to reduce this is to exercise as muc...h as possible and keep warm. If you are having ongoing issues with arthritic foot and ankle pain contact our clinic for great information on how to reduce discomfort. http://www.abc.net.au//does-cold-weather-make-arth/8680912
