20.01.2022 If theres one thing thats constant in the ever-changing IT world, its perpetual change. As the business world in general shifts, morphs expands and contracts new skills are bound to fall in and out of favor. Technical people have long understood that strengthening a skill is one of the best investments they can make in their career. However, this often takes the form of up-skilling in new software or other specialised skills. Interestingly when Tasmanian IT speak to the bu...siness community, it is often the so-called soft skills that come to the fore and are highly sought after. The kind of skills that cant be automated or even predicted. Essentially they fall into three categories. Creativity Persuasion Collaboration Often these are skills that we take for granted or just assume they are part of the role but rarely do we seek formal education in these areas. Is there an opportunity for you to work on up-skilling in this area? We would love to hear your thoughts on this.

19.01.2022 Its the start of a the New Year and here at Tas IT we decided that there wouldnt be a better time to celebrate where we have come from and get excited about where we are heading. Ok everyone does strategic planning from time to time but honestly how many of you hide the information in a folder somewhere never to be seen again? The thinking is well we have done the strategic plan, we know it, and we dont need to see it every day. Our strategy on the other hand is big bold statements that sit on our wall and confront us daily. The commitment is to ask ourselves each and every day, Ok what have I done today to help achieve our goals. Welcome to 2019. Its going to be a fantastic year.

18.01.2022 Project Issues Are Not Problems 95% of issues raised to me on a daily basis are project inconveniences, not project issues. If a individual task has slipped by a day, but its not putting the critical path at risk, its an inconvenience, not an issue. However, a history of regular minor delays from a specific area could become an issue. In this scenario log a risk and manage the risk. SAM BRODRIBB. Director Tasmanian IT

14.01.2022 The staff here at Tasmanian IT love being exposed to new creative ideas and ways of thinking. In fact we live for it. So we are always on the lookout for ways to increase the diversity of our knowledge and gain exposure to new ideas and modes of thinking. As such we have compiled the following list of holiday reading based on what we might look for in a good book. Some are old friends and some we touched on this year for the first time and others, well we are yet to see if they will make our permanent top shelf. We would love to know whats on your reading list for 2019. https://zurl.co/rRqs
