25.01.2022 Don't forget your electrical cords, sewing machine cords (dont need to bring machine), power boards, irons, extension cords etc for tag and testing Wednesday night. We need a minimum amount for him to come out at night for the good rate we get. Note: Newtown Bay rowing club doesnt require tagging at this point in time, but most other venues do and they do appreciate us doing the right thing. Payments will be individual to the electrician this time so please bring suitable cash. Price to be confirmed. If you need things tagged but cannot attend you can drop them at Quarter Inch by 4pm Wednesday and pickup again on Thursday. Please name all items or put all into a named bag. QI will not be responsible for missing items otherwise.

21.01.2022 We're one day and one week away from our first guild meeting since - well, I don't remember - FOREVER! So this is a reminder that NAME TAGS are MANDATORY! If you aren't wearing a name tag at the August meeting, there is a 50 fine (which will go towards our charity sewing). A name badge doesn't need to be elaborate - it doesn't even need to be sewn if you don't have time! It just needs to show your name clearly for others to read. If you would like to make a name badge, you can find lots inspiration and patterns by doing a quick google search.

20.01.2022 We're doing it! We're stitching, chatting, laughing - and socially distancing while doing it! This is the first time we've met as a group since before lockdown, so it's lovely to see everyone! We're thinking of our sister guilds as well, including Perth Modern Quilt Guild who are also meeting today, as well as members of the Melbourne Modern Quilt Guild who are in lockdown and unable to meet. Quilt safely! The Modern Quilt Guild

19.01.2022 All members should have a copy of our newsletter in their email inbox. You can also view it here: https://mailchi.mp//see-you-at-our-christmas-meeting-71026 The most important news is that the Annual General Meeting of the Tasmanian Modern Quilt Guild will be held at the Newtown Bay Rowing Centre on Wednesday the 5th of August, 6-8pm. Yes, usually the AGM is in July, however we all know that 2020 is 'special'. Would you like to join the TMQG team? All positions will be co...nsidered vacant and open for nomination - so this is a great time to share your skills. Maybe you are great at organising things, are happy to join the supper-team, would like to help us raise money for community organisations, or have a knowledge of social media? Or do you just want to be involved to help support your guild? There are 7 general committee positions available as well the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, President, and Vice President. We would love your help to keep the TMQG vibrant, relevant, friendly and interesting. Simply fill out the nomination form and email it to our returning officer (Pam Stewart) or hand it to her in person at the meeting. Please look under the files section for the Nomination Form. Following the serious AGM business we will have our normal fun including Show and Tell. Please feel free to bring your hand-sewing along as usual. We will be observing social distancing and good hygiene practices so please if you have the sniffles or a cough PLEASE STAY HOME AND TAKE CARE. Tea, coffee and milk will be provided but please bring your own mug. Yes, strange times indeed!

19.01.2022 What if we had another lockdown?! Remember, it's not fabric hoarding - it's apocalypse prep!

The number of people who may attend has increased since the event was first published, so we look forward to seeing all who wish to attend.
