25.01.2022 Some more snaps of the stunning winter wonderland we got to enjoy yesterday! Book your winter experience at Cradle Mountain now - www.cradlemountainlodge.com.au

25.01.2022 A few months ago, a singer in Tasmania had a wonderful idea, as his friends and singing colleagues around the country (and world!) went into lock-down to try an...d outsmart the current pandemic. The result of this kernel of inspiration is finally here today - a virtual performance of Thomas Tallis' epic 40 part motet, Spem in Alium, made by 40 Australian singers, in their lounge-rooms from across the country. This incredible collaboration has been directed and weaved together by the exceptionally talented and driven Nick Caddick and features singers from Australian ensembles including St Mary's Cathedral Choir, Sydney, The Song Company, Allegri Ensemble, Choir of St James' King Street, Sydney, Luminescence Chamber Singers, Pinchgut Opera,Adelaide Chamber Singers, and many others, some of whom met years ago singing together at Tallis Scholars Summer Schools, and have gone on to have music careers spanning continents. In Australia, the choral music world is small, but strong. And perhaps most importantly these singers are not just colleagues for this project - but friends, and lovers of a power that unites us across seas, across centuries - that is, beautiful choral music. We hope you enjoy this video, the singing and the glorious score, and can hear the passion resonate, in this strangest of times. With hearty congratulations to Nick, and credit to Brooke Shelley for her mix and Alex Wharton Abbey Road Studios for the mastering. Thanks for listening.

21.01.2022 Brrr! Stay safe, Taswegians!

21.01.2022 Some good news Finally!

15.01.2022 Awesome, but bet it's chilly!

15.01.2022 Well, if this becomes reality, we'll have to program it into the next tour going to the North-West, Grahame! #loowithaview https://www.abc.net.au//loo-with-a-view-planned-/12456894

13.01.2022 Stunning as usual

11.01.2022 TWO YEARS AGO <3 The last day of our first Tasmanian Scenic Opera Tour! Nathan Bryon - Tenor @ Turners Beach Berry Patch You can take the boy out of Geurie, but you can’t take Geurie out of the boy... #haybales #countrybumpkin #sanspashmina #turnersberrypatch #lastday #tasmanianscenicoperatour

08.01.2022 Holy dooley. Not sure how we'd get our tour guests up there, but imagine singing some a'cappella opera on top of that! Probably wouldn't hear a thing, but the feeling would be glorious.

07.01.2022 Given the chilliness in the air now that winter is truly here, it felt like a good time to re-share the pics from when our last tour group went up Mt Wellington in Hobart (in Spring!) and discovered a little bit of snow. It was very cold! At this stage, of course, we won't be offering a 2020 Tour, as the situation Australia-wide with the COVID-19 pandemic is too uncertain. We hope to resume the Tasmanian Scenic Opera Tour in 2021, pending recovery of the travel industry and ...indeed concerts, as there is a lot of talk about the dangers of "superspreading" whilst singing in confined spaces. That is giving me a lot of food for thought with regard to tour possibilities in future. This year, we were planning to go to the stunning East Coast of Tasmania to do all sorts of things, including a glass-bottomed boat tour of Wineglass Bay, see mountains, beaches, enjoy excellent food and wine by the coast, eventually winding our way up to Launceston. Hopefully we might be able to migrate that to 2021's plans! If you'd like to be informed of any new tour plans in future, drop me a PM with your email address and I'll make sure you're on the list. Yours in hope, Pamela Andrews - Soprano
