20.01.2022 One surviving striated pardelote chick from a nest of three stressed little babies. (Cat ate a parent ).He was soo lonely ,then today we added a friend with a mild concussion.. He’s ecstatic but the new friend does not look good so...we wait. They at least have support and love to cuddle up between feeds Loneliness sucks, everyone needs a friend!

20.01.2022 These little guys are doing so well. Outside (with 2 hottie bottles for warm ups!) and hunting for bugs that i dump in the aviary.Still coming in at night to sleep under a bird puppet ‘Mum’ although the larger is too big and just sits near them. Still a long way to go before feathers and flight...many,many more to find for them

18.01.2022 Back out in some of the elements..the aviary is sheltered and there is little draft through the timber walls. I should probably confess to the hottie bottles under the red towel...well Neika is between kunanyi’s cold feet . Plenty of time to brave the cold once those pin feathers have erupted

11.01.2022 Aside from the birds,not much makes me happier than worms,manure,seaweed and donated plants!(Oh maybe the sight of Hubby digging ) A huge thankyou to everyone who donates and /or buys our work from Wren Gallery. We have planted redgum,white flowering gums, protea, banksia so far ..our little sanctuary is developing bush corridors and frog habitat , soon our little orphans will be safe to move about here as they adapt to life in the wild. LET WILD LIVE WILD.

10.01.2022 We can’t save everything, we get that. This beautiful BronzeWing pigeon was recently deceased ..cause unknown; However we can share its amazing feathers and collect lots of photographs for when I get time to paint one

08.01.2022 Threes a crowd tonight at Neika! Striated pardalotes in a tenancy dispute!

07.01.2022 Shes rattling down her 2 day feeds..look at that milk (Wombaroo) go in I like that I can poke the syringe in, feed and be gone with little interaction, her night feed is in a bowl so she is becoming wild and hissy again now !

03.01.2022 This is the hot property currently being sparred over. One tiny egg smashed in the drain ..not sure if its a victim of nest envy, or casualty of mum leaving in a hurry
