25.01.2022 #TassieTuesday #YourTUU knows this COVID period is tough and some do not know what to do. So here is another #TassieTuesday supporting a small business and helping students explore our great state. If you think Tassie only caters to the wine loving, scenic route travelers, you could not be more wrong. ... There is an adventure with your name on it! Whether it is skydiving from thousands of feet in the air, or kayaking with the whales along the Tasman cliff-sides, you are bound to have a blast. If you want something a little more closer to the land, but still love to get wet. Check out the Franklin River Rafting! The TUU is in a period of transformation, and part of the strategic direction is to give more students the opportunity to join our team - and gain a lot of value from the experience. Right now, we are looking to create a team of student volunteers that will help set the direction of the TUU's social events calendar for 2021. This team will also have considerable sway over the University's events planning - providing va...luable input and information to senior UTAS staff. What we are looking for? Someone who is currently helping run a TUU-affiliated club or society in their capacity as an elected member of the executive. Someone who is student focused understands and empathises with the needs and aspirations of the broader student body; makes decisions informed by student insight and based on creation of value for the students. Someone who sees themselves as an emerging student leader who is interested in learning more about the TUU. Someone who is creative & innovative open to new ideas and willing to think ‘outside the box’. Someone who is passionate about seeing our clubs and societies flourish and helping students to meet each other and network in a meaningful way. So, what’s in it for you? Real world work experience and written references $1000 for your club or society to spend on events/initiatives for its members Involvement in a team of likeminded peers, working towards the goal of a future where the student voice leads university decision-making Learning by doing - apply your knowledge of theory to a real organisation and see the difference your input makes A meaningful introduction to student representation at UTAS and the TUU Interested in learning more?
