20.01.2022 Hopefully everyone's PC's came through the power outage unscathed. If you're having trouble getting your machine to power up once power came back on, it may be caused by a capacitor "sticking" and not charging or discharging properly. Sometimes this can be resolved by powering it off completely (turn it off at the wall socket or power board), holding down the power button on the PC for at least 30 seconds while powered off, then switch back on at the wall and try to start up again.

18.01.2022 For anyone with CCleaner installed on their computer, check if youve had any updates installed between early August and now, as malware was being distributed within the application. If you have any concerns or need assistance with assessing your computer give me a call on 62501092

16.01.2022 Its getting warmer and summers starting to feel very close indeed! After putting away the winter woolies it was time to do the same for the family PCs, after 6 months the dust building up around the fans had them getting a bit toasty in the warmer weather as well. Its an easy thing to ignore as its out of sight inside the PC, but can cause some serious issues from running a bit slowly, to randomly turning off or even permanent damage to components. If your PC is struggling a bit with the heat, give Tim a call on (03) 6250 1092 to organise a spring clean.

04.01.2022 ** Business Technology and Risk Assessment - $110 January only, Book now on (03) 6250 1092** The new year is well and truly here, and for small businesses its a great time for dealing with those little "when I get time" things from last year. For a lot of small businesses, being time poor often means a lot of things that you know you really should do, get pushed to the side.... Over the years Ive seen far too many times crucial things get pushed to the side, because they were seen as a "just in case", things like: - Maintaining backups in case of data loss, fire or theft. - Whats my backup plan if my PC/Laptop/Phone/Point of Sale system goes down? How can I keep running my business while these things get resolved? They are the sort of questions that feel less immediate than things like making sales, completing jobs or paying the bills, but when they happen its too late to do anything about them. To help local businesses start off on the right track, for the month of January Ill be offering a business technology and risk assessment for a fixed price of $110. This will include: - An inventory of devices on your business network - An assessment of risks to the integrity of your network and more importantly your data. - A review of your backup strategy, and recommendations on any improvements that can be made. Call Tim on (03) 6250 1092 today to book your Business Technology and Risk Assessment.
