25.01.2022 Here's insights if you are a father of boys.
24.01.2022 We really appreciate the financial support from Bentleys accounting and audit company - $1,000 that will be used to further our work. See if you can hear Anthony's pun.
23.01.2022 At TASMEN (www.tasmen.org.au) over a 3 day weekend, we create a mixture, of drama, experience, workshops, small group work, laughter, fun and friendship, to help you take the next step in your journey as a man. It helps us all as fathers, sons, brothers, husbands, partners or friends and work colleagues. What is said on camp, stays on camp. Within such a safe space we can each make huge leaps forward within ourselves and our relationships. Whats more we come together often a...s strangers, and leave as friends. Meet Alex, one of the men who will be guiding us through this March 2020 event. So far being part of this team has been a pretty wild ride for me. Embracing our theme of "Clear Vision. Authentic Path" has meant confronting some really challenging aspects of myself and the way I've chosen, and now choose, to live my life. Whilst some of that has been intense there's been a lighter side to the experience too. I've spent a lot of time with my content brothers laughing, sharing stories, exploring the creative process and creating true, real connection - very similar to what I experienced during my previous TMG's! These Gatherings have had a profoundly positive impact on my life. I hope TMG 2020 does for you too. See you there. Alex. See more

This inter-active exhibition shows what happens on our annual Gatherings. Stay tuned!
22.01.2022 The first time I came to a TMG I had no idea what the weekend had in stall. Mens work, what's that? All I knew was I needed something. Married with two kids and a young business, I was shrouded with pressures and responsibilities. I was struggling. What the TMG gives me is reconnection with myself, my feelings and my heart. Ive been coming back every year since and I always come home more alive! I look forward to meeting you there. Chuck... PS: We have a full house with a waiting list. See more

21.01.2022 The TMG last year came at a time when life as I knew it had fallen apart. There seemed to be insurmountable obstacles everywhere I looked. Many times I thought I would go under and often wondered what truth was actually the truth. Marriage breakdown, financial crisis the list goes on. In the companion of the men at the TMG I began a process of rediscovering myself in a process that continues today. This was no magic fix, no abracadabra and happily ever after, but it was a tur...ning point and gave me some strength to call on in the very painful/stressful year that 2019 was for me. The support of men during my time of need was priceless. I found friends where I thought I had none and found strength I didnt know I had. Im hoping that in some way my contribution to the content team will help another man to gain a more loving perspective of himself and move on with his life in a way that serves his true happiness well being and growth and also the happiness well being and growth of those he loves. 20.01.2022 HELP US SEND MEN WITH HEART TO THE MAINLAND https://www.gofundme.com/f/men-with-heart This is a chance to reset the agenda on how we understand and discuss masculinity. ... Men with Heart interactive exhibition shows a healthy way to see men, our potential and the positive contributions we make to a safe, strong and resilient community. Official praise has come in 2019 through the Tasmania Mens Health Award and the Betta Milk Make It Betta Health Achievement Community Award and earlier with a Tasmanian Community Fund grant to enable it to tour around Tasmania. Tasmen feels Men with Heart is an important resource for the community to see the goodness of men, and what healthy masculinity can look like. We feel its important it is shared to inspire men to have the courage to be more vulnerable and communicate on a deeper level with other men. With this as our aim it's now the big islands turn to experience Men with Heart Men with Heart was entered into the Head On Exhibition in Sydney. We were successful and are booked at Room 205, 205 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst from 29th April to 7th May. NewMen (NSW Mens Health and Wellbeing Association) will be supporting the Tasmen crew, covering the exhibition. Tasmen has footed the cost of the Sydney venue hire and exhibition fee totalling $1950. NewMen are paying for the 6.00pm Opening Night on Saturday 2nd May - $500. We need at least a further $4000 to make our journey across Bass Strait. Weve set a make or break deadline target of $2000 by the 21st of March. Not raised by then No go Dont show The money will pay for : 1. The transportation of the photos and supporting materials from Hobart to Sydney and back 2. The suitable packaging of the above to ensure they arrive and return safely 3. The airfares for the Tasmen crew, Paul and Alan to travel to Sydney and back If more money is raised we will be investing in robust carrying cases for future tours of the Exhibition. At this stage we have requests to take the exhibition to Western Australia and South Australia How you can help: Donate to the go fundme campaign https://www.gofundme.com/f/men-with-heart Share the gofundme https://www.gofundme.com/f/men-with-heart campaign with your friends and on your social networks. 13.01.2022 Today we are holding our AGM online in ZOOM: 12 noon we catch-up with each other sharing experiences of CONNECTION since our March Gathering and lockdown. This will be facilitated by Alan Raby. Tel 0411 038 717 The link for the meeting is : https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89308760189 Meeting ID: 893 0876 0189... Password: 669216 Both members and non-members are invited to this. 1pm 1.30pm AGM We then hold the AGM (around 30 minutes). After the close of the AGM we have several activities. Depending on numbers, these will be run as either small groups with a report back to a plenary session or in one large group, (items 2-5 will be 'brainstorming' type sessions) : 1) Jonathon Bedloe from Men's Resources Tasmania will report on funding they've received to run several events around Tasmania 2) TMG2021 'Plan B' - with Covid-19 in mind, the Committee is seeking input from members about what you'd like if TMG2021 can't go ahead in its usual way. What are your thoughts about a virtual TMG? What ideas, suggestions, needs, wants can you throw into the mix 'just in case'? 3) Fundraising - from the Annual Financial Report you'll see the difference the fundraising activities (Bunnings Sausage Sizzles) makes. These haven't run this last year and we are looking at getting them back up and running. We'd also like to get ideas (and volunteers) for other fundraising activities. 4) Life Memberships - the Committee is interested in re-introducing Honorary Life Memberships in recognition of contributions made to both the past and present Tasmen organisations. We'd like input about your thoughts around this and how it might work 5) Mid-winter Gathering - traditionally we've held a follow-up 'Mid-Winter Gathering' (often at Campbell Town). Again we'd like your input about running one this year, physically, virtually, or a combination. If you want one, what would you like in it? What can you contribute? If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact me. Kris Secretary [email protected]

11.01.2022 Last year was my first Tasmanian Mens Gathering and it was one of the highlights of my year. I found the men there to be warm and welcoming and I knew before the end that this event was going to be on my calendar for this year too. I really appreciated the chance to connect deeply with other men about the important things in my life, to celebrate my successes and to acknowledge my failures. The Gathering gave me a chance to show up fully without being judged or criticised, to speak from the heart about its contents and to practise being the best man that I can be. I found that meeting other men on this journey from the head to the heart was a humbling experience and that we give each other a gift when we allow ourselves to be seen by each other. I look forward to meeting you at this year's Gathering as we continue the journey

10.01.2022 The Tasmanian Mens Gathering has occurred annually for over 20 years, but I have only been attending for 9. The gathering is a wonderful opportunity to self-explore, at any level as intended, while, I believe, offering a leadership pathway to any chosen extent. Returning to the TMG community from NSW each year strengthens bonding with mates from all over Australia in ways I and most men find challenging to comprehend. One of the highest needs of a man in 2020 is to be heard especially by other men who are attentive and present. I look forward to seeing youand being seen. John Moulang

02.01.2022 I look forward to seeing you shortly in March at our next gathering! As well as being a part of the awesome content team for the 2020 TMG, I will also be your project manager for the experience. I am new to the Tasmen space, only connecting for the first time in 2019 when I felt such a strong affinity with this work and the space, and wanted to give back to the community. The TMG Gatherings are literally life changing experiences. I have many times in my life felt a huge lac...k of authenticity, integrity, love and connection not only with myself, but particularly other men. The TMG offered the most amazing opportunity to step in to a safe environment and experience such pure expressions of these lacking aspects of myself, and with other men too. I could take the emotional armour I wearing off and be seen for exactly who I am. It truly inspired me to be a better man in everything I do. My hope in being a part of the 2020 TMG team is that Im able to create this experience for other men too. Regards Jake. HOT TIP: If you usually book at the last moment dont be disappointed. We have never had so many registrations so early in the New Year before. Let our Gatekeeper Hayward know in an email when you will make your payment and guarantee your place. [email protected] See more

01.01.2022 My first TMG was extremely challenging and confronting, but a very beautiful experience. I found myself in an environment of deep sharing and emotion. It brought up a lot of anxiety and fear for me, but I stayed with the process and I am so glad I did! I hadnt been in a space like that before with just men authentically talking from the heart. It was a powerful, deeply moving, liberating experience that was a huge turning point for me in my life. Through my continued mens ...work with subsequent TMGs and ongoing regular mens share circles, I have learnt to share my joys, my deepest fears and to really listen to others and myself. Very importantly I continue to work at being a better person. Through my sharing and the sharing of others I have learnt so much about myself. The journey has not always been easy, but it has most certainly been worthwhile. I encourage those men who have any fear or anxiety around this years TMG to step into those feelings and give it a go as there is so much love and support. I come away from each TMG feeling full of deep love, connection, appreciation, reflection and support. I felt compelled and inspired to put my hand up to be part of the content team for 2020. I am honoured to be able to give back in some way and to be part of creating something that for me, has enriched my life in so many ways. I look forward to seeing you soon. Sage
01.01.2022 "The journey we as the content team have taken in creating this years TMG has been an incredible experience in itself. Our theme this year Clear Vision | Authentic Path, has been something we have all individually encountered and it has taken us all to an incredible depth as a team. Collectively we have supported each other through our wins and our challenges and we have now instilled all of this in to what will be the 2020 TMG. It has been such a gift for us to walk this journey together and we are all so excited to share the magic we have created with those attending the TMG next weekend. So get your final preparations sorted this is going to be a beautiful experience!" Your 2020 TMG Content Team
