14.01.2022 The New Town Cricket Club warmly welcomes Abdul Haseeb for Season 2020/21. Canadian Abdul joins us from last seasons minor premiers Melbourne University Cricket Club in the Victorian Premier League. Abdul is a wicket taking opening bowler and handy bat. Last season Abdul took 37 wickets @ 19.70 with a best of 7-26. He will add experience to our squad.... Abdul is also a Level 2 Coach and will coach our U15 Premier League team. Bonnie is a genuine all rounder and is a two time Kookaburra Cup premiership player, in the previous two instalments of the competition she has proven herself as a big game player scoring 67* and 55* in winning grand final teams. Bonnie bowls left arm medium pace which is a rarity in Tasmanian women’s cricket and she is looking to use that t...o her advantage. Her drive and passion not only for cricket but soccer, brings an incredibly talented, young, competitive all rounder to the club who has ambitions to take her cricket to the next level and we are excited to help her on that journey. 08.01.2022 Congratulations to Louise Maddock and Beth Schiwy on making their Debuts for New Town over the weekend. Lou is a University player, but when the opportunity presents itself will play for the Bucks to further develop herself. She was in the Top 10 leading run scorers and wicket takers last year proving that she can certainly hold her own at this level. Beth who plays with SHSB is an amazing competitor who only wants to better the team and finished as the 3rd leading wicket tak...er for the competition last year! On a slow sticky wicket Priesty’s cricket experience was on show, knowing that getting through the first half of the game she would be able to cash in at the end by doing the hard work early scoring 75*. We pride ourselves on our fielding ability and that was certainly on show with an early runout of Clare Scott by Emily Mifsud and then another soon after by Amy Smith. Our bowlers also put on a disciplined display restricting North Hobart to 7-68 off 20 overs with Bonnie Davies taking the wicket of the dangerous Stalenberg, and Meg taking 3-7. #justcutsbucks
