24.01.2022 Great weekend of diving at Bicheno with Mark Kolodziej and Bob Van Der Velde, diving Joe's Reef and Sef's Reef. Sef's reef is an extensive reef system due east ...of Bicheno in around 58m, the top of the reef is as flat as bowling green carpeted in sponge, with the seaward side dropping off by around 0.5m creating deep ledges and a hive of fish activity. Below is a short video of the Sef's Reef dive. See more

18.01.2022 A great dive trip to Bicheno last weekend where we dived Joes' Reef, and an exploratory dive on the dunes to 102m 7nm east of Wineglas Bay and a fun dive scoote...ring from the Waubs Bay break wall to the Gulch boat ramp. On deco after a dive on Joe's three Bronze Whaler sharks were seen along with dolphins and seals. See more

16.01.2022 Great to see Tassie east coast deep reef feature on tonight's episode of the magnificent ABC doco Ocean Odyssey: A Journey Down the East Australian Current, if you missed it check out on I View at https://iview.abc.net.au//australia-s-ocean-odyssey-a-jour . Great underwater cinematography by Jon Shaw, below are a few screen shots from the deep reef part.

12.01.2022 Here is a video of diving Joe's Reef (Freycinet Marine Park Bicheno Australian Marine Parks, Great Southern Reef, Tasmania) produced by James Parkinson, featuring the valley of the giants (more like a gutter) an area on Joe's Reef with a large number of black coral trees, that get bigger as you swim up the gutter, ending with the El Grande a black coral tree standing 2.5m tall and spanning close to 3m across. https://youtu.be/BArR1OYQmc8
