20.01.2022 TasTAFE Drysdale - Last week, the first of our Adventure Tour Guiding groups undertook another field trip to the Tasman National Park. Walking a portion of The Three Capes Track and incorporating Cape Pillar, Cape Hauy and Cape Raoul, the group became more familiar with the natural and cultural values of the area, the track, the huts and campsites. The students continued to focus on their guiding, catering and navigation skills, plus interpreting aspects of the natural envi...ronment. The group also enjoyed a presentation from the Parks & Wildlife Service Host Ranger and a visit to the Tasmanian Walking Companys Cape Pillar Lodge. 14.01.2022 Last week, two Adventure Tour Guiding groups were finally able to undertake a field trip to the Freycinet National Park. Completing the Freycinet Peninsula Circuit, the groups became more familiar with the natural and cultural values of the area, the tracks and the campsites. The students focused on guiding a group dependent walkers [their fellow students] for a day, using the leading and group management techniques previously demonstrated by their teachers. ... The students were also assessed on enhancing their guests experience by interpreting aspects of the natural environment and catering for their group.
