25.01.2022 Today is another beautiful day to spend indoors by the fire at The Cidery. But if you're too busy to stop and relax for a while today, you can always drop in to see them at the Taste of the Blackwood tomorrow, have a chat with John and pick up some takeaways. Their brilliant beverages taste just as good at home by your own fire - and there's no one to complain when you kick your shoes off!

25.01.2022 Sunnyhurst Winery will be opening their beautiful Bridgetown garden to visitors during the Festival of Country Gardens on 7/10, 8/10 and 2/11 to 7/11. Their garden is at its best in Spring with a vibrant display of colour from almost seven hundred roses, colourful trees, fruit trees and many annual and perennial cottage plants. Visitors will be rewarded by pausing in the various garden rooms to enjoy the scent, the view and the birds. I'm sure you could make arrangements to enjoy some of their fabulous wine too! 24.01.2022 As usual, we've got fabulous FREE workshops and presentations running all day at Taste of the Blackwood. This year, we've again got a mix of old favourites and new. Drop in to the Bridgetown Town Hall to learn something new today!



24.01.2022 The Bridgetown Writer's Group, Pen & Publish, is on this Friday, featuring the friendly and fabulous Author Sarah Evans. This group is open to anyone who is interested in writing and connecting with like-minded people. Just turn up at the Bridgetown Library at 10am with a pen and paper. A gold coin donation towards refreshments is the only cost. Contact Sarah directly if you would like further details.

18.01.2022 Want to learn more about drying your own food? It's pretty easy to preserve fresh seasonal produce this way, though there is a bit of know how required to retain the best flavours. Maggie Longmore of Nyth Y Dryw in Nannup will be able to help you out with a few tips. You can visit Maggie between 1:30 and 2pm today at Taste of the Blackwood in Bridgetown.

15.01.2022 We were seriously disappointed that Lilly's Garden couldn't join us for this year's Taste of the Blackwood. However, they've assured us they will make it next year! In the meantime, visit their Facebook page to check out their brilliant range of local products and drop them a line if you are keen on anything now. With soap scents like Honey Milk & Oatmeal, Raspberry Heaven, Coffee Scrub, Lemon Grass, Cranberry & Fig with Pink Australian Clay - you'll just have to be careful you don't eat them on arrival!

12.01.2022 Sarah Green of Southern Forests Honey will be discussing Varietal Differences in Honey Style from 10:15am to 10:45am today at Taste of the Blackwood. A 2nd generation honey producer who's made honey for years, Sarah knows what she's talking about! Bring your homemade honey along and Sarah might even be able to give you some tips on how to improve it.

Shirley Browning will be able to give you plenty of advice on making this chore a little easier. Visit Taste of the Blackwood today and attend her workshop between 12 and 1pm to find out more. This is not a workshop for kids or adults, but one for both! So make sure you bring the whole family along.

Spend a rainy half hour warm and dry inside, learning something new from a local expert.

Ciaran Stewart will be explaining how to make great African style biltong at one of Taste of the Blackwood's great free workshops today. Come and see Ciaran between 10:45 and 11:30am today.
