02.01.2022 We are a small family farm located at Allora on the southern Darling Downs which is halfway between Toowoomba and Warwick. We try to live by a mix of sustainable and ethical farming methods. Our enterprise includes: cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. We have produce all our own meat and try to grow as many vegetables as we can. Chickens - Completely free range - currently there are 200 chickens grazing in a 625 square meters this area will double by the end of Sep...tember. They wake up and step on the ground, see their wonderful surrounds on images 1 and 2. This is before the drought dried up all of their pasture. Normally we would move their fencing and shelter every 7 - 10 days on to fresh grass. This removes the need to treat for parasites and most diseases as the incubation cycles are interrupted. The chickens and the cows work symbiotically as the chicken come in after the cattle leave and spread the manure reducing fly populations. And as a bonus it fertilises the yard.... regenerative farming. Pigs - The pigs are free range behind electric fencing, image 5 and 6 are how we like the pigs to live, unfortunately due to the drought image 7 is the current reality.
