24.01.2022 Give the ultimate high for Fathers Day - a spectacular aerobatic flight in a genuine World War II fighter trainer. Visit tasmanianwarbirds.com.au or call 1300 799 501 for Fathers Day bookings, gift vouchers or more information.

23.01.2022 Battle of Britain Day, 80th Anniversary: Today is Battle of Britain Day, when we commemorate and celebrate the incredible efforts of those involved in defending the British skies eighty years ago. It was a key turning point of the war, by preventing the Germans from being able to go ahead with their planned invasion of Britain. The main RAF fighters involved were the Hawker Hurricane & Supermarine Spitfire, flown by pilots from Britain, Poland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand..., South Africa, Czechoslovakia, Ireland and Belgium. These were pitted against a larger force of Germany's Messerschmitt Bf 109s. Almost all Allied Battle of Britain pilots learnt their craft on an aircraft like ours - the North American T6 Harvard advanced fighter trainer. These heroes were named 'The Few' by Winston Churchill in his famous speech to the nation, and numbered almost 3,000 in 1940. Eighty years on, there is just one of The Few left, Irishman Flying Officer John Hemingway. Lest we Forget.

23.01.2022 77 today! Our beloved Harvard "099" rolled off the production line in North American Aviation's factory 77 years ago today, to play its part in World War II - advanced training of Allied fighter pilots, preparing them for their frontline aircraft. Going as well as ever, "099" continues to fly in Tasmanian skies, giving many lucky people bucket-list airborne experiences and a taste of World War II aviation.... Visit tasmanianwarbirds.com.au or call 1300 799 501 to book your part of this history or for gift vouchers as very unique presents.

19.01.2022 Although we sadly can't fly our normal passenger adventure flights at the moment, we are planning on paying tribute to those lost in battle over the years, by flying past various local spots tomorrow on ANZAC Day. We'll be in our World War II Harvard fighter trainer, so if you're outdoors paying your respects or exercising, look out for the iconic warbird shape and listen for the distinctive rumble from a bygone era. We hope you have a memorable ANZAC Day, for all the right reasons,at this challenging time.

02.01.2022 Today marks the 75th anniversary of end of World War II, known as VJ Day, when Japan announced its surrender. Over a million Australian men and women served in the war, defending our home shores and fighting on land, air and sea all over the world. Our 1943 Harvard played its small part in the war, training hundreds of Allied fighter pilots before they went on to fly their front-line aircraft such as Spitfires, Hurricanes, Boomerangs and Mustangs. ... Lest we forget.
