25.01.2022 Whoo Hoo!.. the latest announcement from the Premier has us almost back to 'normal'.. from Monday our numbers are less restricted and we are just waiting for the sign-off on contact training.. Term 3 for our kids classes will have a few small changes and so we will be contacting all of our parents shortly to confirm what our 'new normal' is going to look like.. Well done SA! Onward and Upward

25.01.2022 Tonight sees us finally able to train with contact which is awesome!.. We will still be taking all other precautions and as always, if you are unwell please stay home and rest. DON'T FORGET YOUR DRINK BOTTLE!

24.01.2022 Hi everyone, sorry I had hoped to have an update for everyone by now but it is still unclear if and how we will be able to reopen. We are still hopeful for lessons after tomorrow (1st Dec) but until they send us our new covid plan (which I am expecting today) we won't know for sure and under what conditions. At this stage, we will definitely still be closed this afternoon but fingers crossed for Wednesday & Thursday

23.01.2022 We've had a great start to the year ..let's keep up the momentum.. Looking forward to seeing everyone again tonight, welcoming new faces and seeing more return from holidays.. See you tonight..7pm start

22.01.2022 Do you have or know a preschooler who'd love to learn martial arts but is a bit too young for formal classes? Good news! Tatakai is reintroducing our Toddler class!.. a weekly pre-entry class aimed at 3-5yr olds based on personal safety using songs and games. Starting Wednesday 10th February 12pm - 12.30pm First lesson FREE... Bookings Essential See more

20.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our students and their families.. we are looking forward to a fresh start and a hopefully less bumpy year ahead! Reminder senior classes start again Monday 11th January.. all Intermediate and senior students encouraged to attend these classes during the holidays.. Mondays and Thursdays 7pm-8.30pm plus Wednesdays 10am-11.30am. Children's classes (Toddler, Junior and Intermediate) resume Monday 25th January..see you on the mats!

19.01.2022 Great News!.. We are allowed to reopen and return to training! So from tomorrow (Wednesday 2nd December) our adults classes will resume (10am-11.30am) and all of our Thursday (& Monday) classes will return as they were previously. Due to restrictions we ask that only 1 caregiver attends lessons with their child/children (if possible) and to please adhere to social distancing when inside the reception area. If your child is comfortable with you leaving them, we are encouraging... students to be signed in and then collected at the end of the lesson to help keep our numbers to the requirements. Everyone who attends the dojo will be required to check in upon arrival. The SA Government has introduced the COVID-19 Safe Check-In app so everyone who has a suitable mobile phone needs to check in using the app, however all children (& anyone who doesn't have a suitable mobile phone) will still need to be signed in using the paper record as before. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time, we are so excited to be back in the dojo training and look forward to seeing you all again.

18.01.2022 Considerate: Being considerate of others has many benefits and positive side effects. For example, If you are considerate of others at all times you will develop self discipline, be respectful and respected by others. I could go on to list many other benefits however I think you should put it in to practice and enjoy finding out for yourself. Let's also not forget being considerate of others includes you having good hygiene and a clean gi at all times.

16.01.2022 If you walk through the doors of our venue be prepared to follow our covid action plan. Those trying to flaunt rules are those who are most likely to transmit this virus. Please be considerate of others if you are unsure about anything that might be required at our venue please ask Shianne or Aaron to explain it to you. It is easy and natural to feel relaxed in SA at the moment but we must be mindful at all times and continue to follow the current health advice so we can continue to enjoy that feeling. Have fun when training and rest assured you're in safe hands.

16.01.2022 Great News!.. from Monday (29th June) our lessons are pretty much back to normal. We are allowed contact when training and the updated 2sqm per person rule means our numbers can be relaxed. We will see out the last week of term with our combined children's classes (Mon & Thur 5.30-6.30) but from Term 3, we return to separate Juniors and Intermediates and we can finally welcome back our Toddlers! Please refer to your emails for further information and contact us to book in for Term 3. Well done SA and remember, now is not the time for complacency, lets keep SA Covid-19 free!

16.01.2022 Today's the Day! The kids are back and it's our FREE Come and Try day so everyone and anyone is encouraged to come along.. limited places, especially in the Junior class so best to call or msg ahead but walk-ins are welcome in Intermediate and Senior classes

14.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone!..it is fantastic news that the stay at home direction will cease on Sunday morning but at this stage it is unclear when we will be permitted to open again and under what conditions. As soon as we receive advice from the DPC & SA Health, we will let everyone know via Facebook and text message.

12.01.2022 So we received our latest Covid Safe Plan at 5.30 this morning and as an indoor community sport, we are still not permitted to return to classes. At this stage it is looking like 1st December will be our return date but will wait for the official clearance before announcing it for certain. Stay safe everyone and remember to keep practicing at home.

12.01.2022 Looking forward to today's lessons.. including the long awaited reintroduction of the Toddler class.. going to be lovely to meet so many new faces today..

09.01.2022 Training Times Update: Tatakai Martial Arts Academy training for all classes will cease for a minimum of 2.5 weeks effective immediately due to public health concerns. Please keep your eye on our Facebook page for more information and any relevant updates. On a happy note there will be a summer uniform (T-Shirt) available complete with your rank on the sleeve upon your return.

07.01.2022 Looking forward to our senior classes starting back up again this Monday, 11th January.. New Students Welcome! Reminder too that all Intermediate students are also invited to attend during the school holidays .. see you there!

07.01.2022 One more week until our younger students return and one more week until our official Come & Try day although it's been great to see some new faces already in our Senior class. Remember, if you or anyone you know has been thinking about trying something new, now is definitely the time to start!

05.01.2022 Senior class starts at 7pm.. See you all soon!

05.01.2022 & so we finish the year that was 2020!.. With less fanfare and celebration but no less commitment and enthusiasm, our lessons have ceased for the year but we look forward to seeing all our students again in the new year. Well done to all our students and congratulations to the students who recently graded, you were all amazing and then some when you consider the bumpy road you all had to travel this year.... Bring on a (hopefully) less bumpy 2021!

04.01.2022 A timely reminder to all of our students and their caregivers.. When at the dojo, please practice good hygiene, sanitise your hands upon entry and exit, social distance, minimise the number of non-students attending and if you are unwell, STAY HOME. Now is NOT the time to get complacent!

02.01.2022 What a great start to 2021!.. It was great to meet so many new faces yesterday.. we had a great day of classes, some students also moving up to Intermediates or Seniors and loving it by the looks.. looking forward to a fantastic year!
