22.01.2022 #jobkeeper The government recently introduced the JobKeeper Payment Scheme that supports businesses that are significantly affected by the COVID-19 to help keep Australian in jobs. Who can apply for JobKeeper?... The JobKeeper payment is open to eligible employers, sole traders and other entities to help enable them to pay their wage of $1,500 (before tax) per fortnight. When can you enrol for JobKeeper? The ATO has now opened up enrolment into the government’s JobKeeper payment of $1,500 per fortnight starting from today. You can enrol to the JobKeeper scheme two ways: You can enrol by yourself via your MYGOV account/ ATO's Business Portal; or You can speak to your registered tax agent and they can help you test your eligibility and enrol for you. From 28 September 2020, businesses and not-for-profits will be required to reassess their eligibility with reference to their actual GST turnover in the June and September quarters 2020. They will need to demonstrate that they have met the relevant decline in turnover test in both of those quarters to be eligible for the JobKeeper payment... Payment from 4 January 2021 to 28 March 2021. From 4 January 2021, businesses and not-for-profits will need to further reassess their turnover to be eligible for the JobKeeper Payment. They will need to demonstrate that they have met the relevant decline in turnover test with reference to their actual GST turnover in each of the June, September and December quarters 2020 to remain eligible for the JobKeeper payment
