20.01.2022 TAXI TRAVEL DURING VIRUS TIMES Following guidelines issued by the Dept Transport, Taxi travel in the Burdekin is as follows : Sedans - carry a MAXIMUM of 2 passengers only OR 1 adult with one or two minors. Three or more people travelling are to use the bus with a MAXIMUM of 4 per trip. You will not be charged the Maxi rate when there are just four on board but you will be charged per trip so consider the number of people needing to travel therefore how many trips need to be... made As usual there is a Sedan Taxi working throughout the night and the same rules apply to that Taxi. Consider if the trip is absolutely necessary as we are experiencing some very long delays getting to people who are insisting on going through drive-thru. They then complain about the length of time taken for orders and it just rolls on from there. We are also obliged to clean the Taxi between jobs. All of this takes time. If you are just wanting to go for food/drinks/cigarettes BE PATIENT. We will get to you as soon as we can. Due to the delays, if you need to go to the hospital it would probably be better if you called the ambulance. We are all doing the best we with the restrictions we're under. There's no point getting abusive towards the driver. That will just get your details and picture given to the police to deal with. When you call 131 008 to book a Taxi - 1. Give them the name and contact number of person travelling 2. Give them the correct pickup address 3. Give them a destination address and whether it is a one way trip or a return run 4. Tell them how many are travelling. If it's more than two then driver needs to make multiple trips. Some people call in and don't give any info at all. NO NAME + NO NUMBER = NO TAXI We're not worried who you are or where you're going, we just need to run dispatch as efficiently as we can so you all get to where you want to go as soon as possible.
