16.01.2022 Members have reported to the Taxi Council of Queensland (TCQ) of receiving emails suggesting that the $1,000/licence "unite & recover payments would be subject to tax and so they should not rely on the advice published by TCQ last week. TCQ considers any such suggestions to be completely unhelpful for taxi licence owners and more like the speculations of "hoaxsters rather than trustworthy advice from a competent adviser.

06.01.2022 Remember: Enrolment for JobKeeper Payments must be done before 30th April 2020 to be able to claim payments for April EDIT: If you need more time, enrolments have been extended to the end of May. However, the sooner you enrol, the sooner you will start to receive payments. Taxi drivers, operators and owners are likely to meet the eligibility requirement for this (their turnover having reduced by more than 30 per cent relative to a comparable period of one month, a year ...ago). Following enrolment, the Government will provide $1,500 per fortnight per eligible employee, or to sole traders with no employees, for a maximum of 6 months. In partnerships, only one partner can be nominated to receive a JobKeeper Payment, noting a partner cannot be an employee. Trusts can receive JobKeeper Payments. Where beneficiaries of a trust only receive distributions, rather than being paid salary and wages for work done, one individual beneficiary can be nominated to receive the JobKeeper Payment. Begin your enrolment for the JobKeeper Payment by following the steps here: https://www.ato.gov.au//e/enrol-for-the-jobkeeper-payment/
