23.01.2022 Its quite impressive that the court was quickly been able to revert to telephone and online appearances since the COVID19 pandemic began. I hope that the court are able to incorporate more technology in future, as this forced trial was mostly successful in my view!

23.01.2022 Recently, we managed to settle one of my parenting matters at a last minute mediation, prior to trial. This has saved the client (and no doubt the other party) upwards of $20,000 not to mention the stress involved leading up to trial! We have only been working for this client for a few weeks out of a court battle that has so far lasted years. I am so proud of our team and the solicitors/paralegals that have been assisting me in resolving this matter.... What a win, for both parties and for our team!

09.01.2022 Often parties will recall gifts as loans when the other party remembers them as the exact opposite. An essential element of a loan is that a loan must be repaid... - making it much different than a gift. This can be difficult when parents loan money to one party on the premise that it is paid back at some stage. Is this a loan, or is this a gift? The difference between a gift and a loan is not always so obvious. Even when agreements exist, the Court may be skeptical about the legitimacy of the agreement, particularly if the lender never actually intends to recover the loan.
