18.01.2022 Continuing with our transformation September series. This week I asked Erin how important training is for her and how does it make her feel. I've always been regularly physically active and understand the many ways regular exercise benefits the human body. I joined Taylored Fitness By Mel a few years ago now and straight away felt benefits including increased fitness, increased endurance, increased energy levels, consistent energy levels over the course of the day, improved... mood and self-esteem and improved rest. Since having my second baby during Covid, I've at times found it difficult to feel in control of things in my life. Having the ability to exercise regularly was therefore even more important, for my post-natal recovery, mental and emotional health. The variety of classes and mode of delivery has eased my transition post-partum, giving me a sense of control and stability in my life. The variety in classes helps maintain interest and motivation, and results in different physical gains. My physical progress has been slower this time around, and I've had to be more patient and forgiving of myself. The trainers at TFBM have supported me throughout; checking in on my individual needs, encouraging and pushing where necessary and they and the group of people we train with have always been friendly, motivating and approachable. 14.01.2022 It’s been a while since I’ve posted a sweaty selfie, so here it is! I’m mixing my training up atm. Today consisted of an early morning walk (this is a non negotiable for me everyday) a HIIT session, followed by a light high rep weight session. My WHY I exercise is - because I love the feels afterwards, I love how the rush of endorphins and I love my body.. simple really! ... Know your WHY you exercise and you’ll never miss a day. 01.01.2022 This is 46! I’m proud to say I’m fitter and healthier than I’ve ever been. I think my 30s were just honestly a shit storm! Now mums you’ll relate to this - we’re juggling family, work, relationships, and so so much! We push our bodies way harder than they should, we’re exhausted and therefore quite often exercise and nutrition goes out the window! Hello hormonal chaos!! ... This is no ones fault, this isn’t pointing the finger. But let’s face it, you do have a choice to do something about it. I truly wish I’d got my shit together earlier than now... It’s not too late! You can have control of your life, you can learn to make better choices, you can stop over complicating your life. It’s time to stop the blame, stop the guilt and just start to look after your basic needs. But how do you do this ?? Sleep 6-8 hours a night NEAT - non exercise activity thermogenesis, so get those steps up to 10000 a day! Eat nutrient dense foods, hit your macros, it doesn’t matter when you eat, just eat and eat well!! Consume your calories everyday! Drink plenty of water 2-3 litres a day, more if you exercise Mindset work - this is huge!! Get your emotional thoughts in check, be kind to yourself Unless you’re willing to change a few habits that may not be the best for you, nothing will change. So I urge you to take control and start to look after you. Make whatever your age the best years of your life!
