21.01.2022 Welcome back! After a long period of time off, the beginning of a new school year can bring so many mixed emotions for teachers, parents and students. So my question to you is If you were in charge of how you wanted to feel this year, what would you choose? Would you choose to feel more playful, more joy, more compassion, more understanding or be more curious? Would you choose to be fearless, have more determination, more discipline or more drive to succeed academi...cally? We are so used to conditioning our body to fall into a slump and let the world know when we aren’t doing so well (Slouching, frowning, not making eye contact, quick shallow breaths, shaking your leg). How often are we practicing the positive emotions though? Actors don’t just know how to change moods naturally! PRACTICAL: Choose a positive emotion that you want to feel more of in 2019 and practice it! Eg. If you want to feel more joy when you wake up for work or school in the morning- Make yourself laugh as soon as you wake up! If you want to feel more curious at school- When you feel yourself sliding down your chair, sit up tall and act interested! If you want to be more courageous- Say YES to new opportunities when you would usually say no! Triggers can occur anywhere or anytime and send us into a spiral of negative emotions. To prevent this from happening, interrupt the patterning with a positive emotion (Just like someone giving you an ankle tap in footy! ) Comment below what you’re going to work on and how you plan on doing it. Would love to hear your ideas!

04.01.2022 So many students have been asking for tips about procrastination lately, so here it is! Procrastination just comes down to momentum. Once we get started it’s generally easier to keep going. Think about Mondays.. the break in routine makes it difficult to start the week again, but once you do, one day rolls to the next. How do we generate this motion though? Emotion! You need an emotional attachment to whatever it is you need to do. When you’re feeling really pumped or exci...ted about something, you do it automatically right? Or when you generate the feeling of pressure/stress at the last minute before an exam or assignment is due you’ll get it done or you’ll start studying! Pleasure or pain, either way you’ll get momentum going, but who wants stress all the time? PRACTICAL: Get clear about what YOU ultimately want to achieve in your week, month or year. Then: At the start of each day write down a list of 3 things MAX that you’re going to get done in the day. Sometimes getting a massage or doing yoga is on mine. They don’t all have to be work/school tasks! Train yourself to celebrate your successes so that you associate the hard work with JOY. I mean proper cheering for yourself! Change your state or association with school work- sit up tall, say YES and get curious about what it is you have to do. Sometimes it takes grit to get started, but once you do the momentum will feel great!

03.01.2022 What’s your reaction to this question? Do you respond like most people with your name, your job or where you’re from? . Yesterday, working for @niikstewart at his motivational seminar, the audience was posed with this exact question- Who are you? . I was having a chat to a guy in his early 20’s afterwards who was having a difficult time expressing his answer. He said, Well I know who I am, but that’s not who I actually want to be? You could see his thoughts were c...onflicting. He knew he was someone different to what he was putting out to the world but thought he had to change or add qualities to himself to be something more. . We are all products of our environment, and each of us have different conditioning placed upon us depending on how we were brought up or what was sold to us at an early age (before we knew what was right or wrong). . Working out who you are isn’t about adding more. We are all born our true self. It’s about removing the layers of conditioning to uncover what’s underneath. . PRACTICAL: Write a list of attributes you would use to describe yourself. Consider whether this is who you are or whether it’s someone you think you have to be because someone said so. Decide on your top 5 and rehearse this in your mind with I am.... If you repeat something long enough your mind will believe it, and this is how you’ll act in everyday life (you’ve been doing this with the beliefs others put in your mind, so why not take control and make your own?!) . . . . #whoareyou #success #motivation #selfhelp #lifetools #lifehacks #emotionalcontrol #emotionalintelligence #selflove #mantra #attributes #conditioning #positivespsychology #psychology #health #siam #students #youth #teachers #parents See more

03.01.2022 I’ve been a little quiet on the socials lately. Here’s why . Putting on YOUR oxygen mask before helping others on the plane. You’ve all heard it from the air hostess 1000 times before. It’s not narcissistic, it’s required . . Self love is about being aware of your wants and needs and being able to act from an educated mindset rather than one that just reacts to all the stimulus around you (I imagine this like a pin ball machine- you are the ball bouncing off social media,... parents, friends or past experiences). People that are aware, know the difference and when they need to fill themselves up. The last couple of weeks I’ve been honouring my own needs so that I still have that ability to give . PRACTICAL: Treat yourself kindly allowing your self worth to increase. Don’t let the parasites suck your energy (I’m sure we all know some people like this!) Hold yourself accountable. How? Build up your intuition and believe that your physical body will give you the signs and feelings about what you need and want. Do what you know you need to and not what others want you to do . . . #lifetools #empowerment #selflove #lifehacks #selfcare #intuition #teachers #students #parents #selfworth #lifeskills #education #lifeschool #help #parasites #energy #fillyourcup #love #adventure #bluepool #hiking See more

02.01.2022 Today I asked students to sit for a minute without speaking, without moving, without fidgeting Not to abuse my power, but to teach content through feelings. Without warning I let it go a couple of minutes longer to see how they would respond. Only 5 out of 30 lasted the length After the exercise I asked students to give me feedback on how they felt.. Agitated, bored, urge to speak, irritated, uncomfortable, awkward..... Chatting about these feelings and the impact the mind has on your bodies reactions was interesting, but more so were these two stories that came up (both males!) Miss! My parents are Greek and Italian. I have to be loud- that’s my culture! Miss! I have two older siblings and if I’m not loud then I don’t get noticed! Is there a character that you’re trying to live up to? What beliefs are you holding on to about how you need to behave? PRACTICAL: Start to be curious about the things you do and say About the way you react in certain situations. Where is this coming from? Perhaps you are living out your parents dreams or trying to prove yourself to someone? Know that beliefs are only true if you prove them to be. Change the story you tell yourself and it’ll change your life. . . #practicalpositivity #beliefs #limitingbeliefs #beliefsystems #lifetools #students #parents #teachers #wellbeing #lifelessons #holdingback #fear #curious #growthmindset #education #lifeschool
