17.01.2022 You don’t need to live in a rural community for long to see how much people are prepared to give, and the way common goals bring people together. And when you s...tand back and observe, you notice that this giving comes in many different forms. It may be a financial contribution to a local club or organisation. It may be donations of goods or services for a fundraiser. It might be the making of a casserole when someone is unwell, or has a newborn. It might be a providing time to a working bee or sausage sizzle, or to sit on a committee, coach a kids sports team, or work at the local op shop. It might be taking a few extra minutes to stop and chat to the young person sitting by themselves in the park looking sad and alone. Importantly, no matter the form of the contribution, each is valuable and important. And some times, giving comes in the form or knowing your own limits, and saying no, when you have got nothing left. Sometimes the best way to contribute to the community is to donate to yourself the gift of self compassion, care for yourself and sit this one out. #alifesimplylivedpsychology #ruralpsych #whodoyoudontateto #nicolamoras #contentologynov2020 day 11/30
