24.01.2022 Okay so this is a drought like no other...Its been darn tough and its telling in our bull sales thats for sure. Normally at this time of year we would have ...cleared our Private Treaty sale bulls. So many cows have gone from our industry so the need for bulls has halved also. So heres the deal... we have reduced the price on these boys so they can get out there and do what they have been bred for. We have reduced the price to $3000 plus gst. Normally our best price on Private Treaty Bulls for volume buyers is $4000, so this is a deal. First in best dressed. Msg us or phone 0427 621278 See more

17.01.2022 DEEPWATER WATER SUPPLY AND CARTING - THE FACTS! Council has been made aware of concerns raised by members of the Deepwater community regarding the carting of p...otable water from the Deepwater water standpipe for use in Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) road works projects. Although a number of trucks regularly use the Deepwater Water Standpipe, the majority of this water is going to help local rural customers. The reason the standpipe was constructed was to allow rural properties to access safe drinking water, particularly during times of drought. Access to the system is by an electronic key which is able to be purchased at Councils town hall office. The water is metered and charged at the same rate that existing users pay, and bills are issued directly to the customer from an independent billing company (Avdata) who operate many of these system on behalf of Councils. Council monitors usage through via the online system to ensure that water security is not impacted. Over an eight month period, Council was supplying water for the RMS Bolivia Hill Project. During this period, 192.48 kilolitres of water was taken from the Deepwater standpipe for this purpose, with a dollar value of $487.00. This volume is equivalent to 10% of one (1) day's normal aggregate use for Glen Innes and Deepwater combined. This minor volume is vastly different to the community perception. For the RMS Bolivia Hill Project, Council had been allowing the use of filter wastewater from the Deepwater Water Treatment Plant, however this has now ceased with the implementation of level four (4) water restrictions. A local water carter has recently been awarded a contract with RMS to deliver water to a state road works project. This water is being collected from Wallangarra, QLD and is carted along the New England Highway, through Deepwater, to reach the project. This contract commenced on 4 November and will continue for a number of weeks. As the trucks are travelling through Deepwater, we believe this has caused some unnecessary concern. Council is in regular contact with local water carting contractors and to our knowledge no water is being taken from the Deepwater standpipe for use on road works projects, state or local. If you have any questions in relation to water supply, please contact Councils Department of Infrastructure Services on telephone 02 6730 2371 Jai Brummell
17.01.2022 THIS WEEK...Basic tests available free to check for deadly illness A special mobile clinic is coming to Glen Innes to test men for a range of common and fata...l preventable illnesses. It is scheduled to be outside the Town Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 26th and 27th). The Mens Health Education Rural Van will have a registered nurse who can conduct blood pressure, cholesterol and other non-invasive tests which can detect a range of killer afflictions early enough to treat them. The visit on is organised by Rotary whose president in Glen Innes, Dick Hartman, said that men died because they were too proud to go to the doctor for the basic things. As a result, they drop dead in the sheep yard or the pub or the street anywhere when a simple check would have prevented it. Nows the chance to do it. It could save your life. The tests are free and the caravan will be outside the Town Hall from 10 am to 4 pm. There is a drive to test for many potentially fatal diseases. A breast cancer screening unit recently visited.
