All-inclusive beer, wine and cider (responsible service applies of course), lunch (think meat and seafood platters), hopefully some live music, and whatever else we manage to throw together between now and then. 23.01.2022 #Repost @daniel_loves_beer @tbonebrewingco ‘Barrel Aged Big Old Stout’- 8% Released in limited quantities back in July, T-Bones Big old Stout spent a ‘short time’ in small ex whisky barrels. The advantage of using these small barrels is the whisky effect will be far greater, far quicker .... A good boozy whiff of whisky straight off the bat. The 1st sip blows me back in my seat. 8% you say, hooo weee that barrel has imparted some solid punch into this Imperial stout. A nice oily velvet mouthfeel also makes a mockery of the ‘smaller’ Imperial ABV. It isn’t overly roasty, instead the hero is clearly the barrel effect of whisky . Supporting roles are played by our regular stout guest of bitter chocolate & coffee. The bitterness lingers nicely on the back on your palate . The little (big) morsel was purchased for me by @thebrewhop . Have read around the traps that this can retailed for under $8 !? That represents absolutely fierce value for the style.
