23.01.2022 This week, staff at Thomas Carr College were presented with an overview of this week's National Child Protection Week (September 6-12). The theme this year is Putting Children First. During this week, we focus on the issue of child abuse and highlight the importance of primary prevention to reduce child abuse and neglect in our homes, schools, institutions and community.

19.01.2022 This year, Thomas Carr College has made the commitment to become a Resource Smart School. The College will aim to reduce resource use, make cost savings, integrate sustainability into the curriculum & share learnings beyond the school gate. The College has commenced work on completing the first of 5 modules, with future modules focusing on Waste, Water, Energy and Biodiversity. We have developed a Staff Working Group as well as involved the Student Environmental Action Team.... We are proud to be a part of this project and look forward to achieving goals in the sustainability field. 18.01.2022 A sincere Thank You to our Thomas Carr College Textiles department members - Mrs Grujovski, Mrs Spagnolo, Ms Kovac and Ms Taig, who are currently making masks for teachers & staff. So far, $1,300 has been raised for St. Vincent de Paul in Hoppers Crossing, to assist families going through current difficulties.

14.01.2022 Reconciliation Action Plan - Its a RAP! In 2020 Thomas Carr College made a commitment to producing a Reconciliation Action Plan or RAP! What is it? A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation. The Rap works on creating and building: relationships, respect and opportunities, in the classroom, around the school, and within the community. We have created a working group, completed our reflection survey and created a vision, we are ...now working on our actions. 03.01.2022 Staff at our Good Samaritan Campus in Coragulac have been busy in supporting the local primary school families in need of some cheer at St Brendans Primary School. 30 delicious care packages were produced and distributed comprising of goodies such as biscuits, slices & muffins. Staff member, Debbie Van Es, along with the Principal of St Brendans Primary School, Leanne Eastman completed the delivery to all families, during scenic 5-hour journey across the Coragulac and surrounding countryside.
