23.01.2022 What do you like to do on your days off? Us, we to go to the race track! We had a fun and safe day at lakeside with all cars driving to and from the track without any breakdowns or crashes. Can't wait to do it all again in a couple weeks :)

22.01.2022 Today's featured car has been running a bit rough, struggled to idle, other workshops have done spark plugs, fuel filter and the usual, but we know these engines better than most. Straight to check the timing chain and way too much play in a critical item that shouldn't have any play at all. Chain removed and held next to the new chain for length comparison. You can see clearly the old chain has stretched which wasn't allowing the engine to run properly. A big job for most mechanics, we've completed the replacement in just one day using quality OEM components that will give the best life for the money spent (no cheap eBay knock offs are used for such a critical component). This lucky owner will have a huge grin on their face as they jump behind the wheel of their Super Car tonight.

22.01.2022 Today we got a visit from James pride and joy, his 1995 EK Honda Civic. A recent purchase from interstate that needed a Qld Safety Certificate to qualify for Qld Registration. A quick check over and we can see this car has been someone's baby since new. All original in tip top condition and with just a few bushes sorted out it has now passed with flying colours and will be a super car we look forward to seeing back for its regular servicing. AK Racing started in a small shed in Brendale in 2012. In that time they've grown an extensive loyal customer base due to their honest approach, vast knowledge, and fair pricing. 19.01.2022 We've had a few people ask us and YES - we are classed as an essential service and WE ARE OPEN for business. We are doing our best to serve the community in the safest and cleanest way possible. If your car is making a funny noise, has a new leak or smell, if you think it's due for brakes or tyres, see us before it's too late! In the interest of public health and safety, we have closed our office to visitors to comply with the 1 person per 4sqm rule. There is a bell to ri...ng outside the office, we will come to meet you at the door. All keys and cars are treated with an antibacterial solution before we start work, and once we finish work. This includes a wipe down of all high touch areas and the controls we use when checking and testing your car. Our staff will also be wearing gloves where appropriate. We have also taken measures inside the building with staff and cleaning to ensure we stay more than 1.5m apart, and keep a clean and hygienic working environment to keep all of us, and you safe. We are aware that the Government has told people to stay home and to isolate unless you need to travel for essentials. Remember that keeping your car maintained and safe is essential. The Government has allowed us to stay open to keep your car safe, and in turn keep your family safe. Firstly, we ask that if you or your passengers have been affected by any flu like symptoms, please call us to rebook your car for another day. We will do our best to fit you in another day in 2 weeks as the health of our staff is very important to us. ... On that note, please be aware that we have taken a very firm stance with staff also and the same rules apply to them. You can be sure bringing your car to us that we won't have staff with flu symptoms spreading this into your vehicle. We are following the government's health warnings and using social distancing where appropriate. 14.01.2022 Another Super Car that made the trip into us this week, arrived on a trailer and drove out on it's own, on time, working perfectly, but most importantly, under budget. 12.01.2022 Wow! We knew this was coming but that water came up so fast! One minute we could hear the rain coming from up the street, 15 minutes later it's close to 1m deep in parts of the street. Unfortunately with downpours like this the water down stream of the storm drains also rises and there's not much can be done about it getting the water to drain away faster. We had a feeling this was coming and made sure that all cars were moved to higher ground before we closed up on Friday and thankfully that move paid off. In preparation for the next one we've given the gutters a quick clean out since the water has gone done and moved the excess debris off the street.

03.01.2022 This car came in to us after developing a weird ticking noise from the engine after a previous mechanic recently replaced the timing belt kit. Fortunately we picked it up before it became a bigger issue for the owner.
