As a Japanese, we can confidently say that convenience stores in Japan are literally convenience and awesome. In a big city, there are more than three convenience stores within 100 meters. Most of them open 24 hours 7 days even on public holidays. If you go there, you could purchase whatever you are looking for with reasonable prices, such a...s food, drink including alcohol, magazines or books, daily necessities, stationery. A printer, ATM and a bathroom are often available for customers. Here in Australia, products in convenience stores might be a bit expensive compared with supermarkets like Woolworths and Coles. However, in Japan, it is almost the same price between convenience stores and supermarkets. A variety of the products is wide as well. I would highly recommend you to get some food from convenience stores as well as going to Japanese sushi or traditional restaurant to have a bit of expensive food.
