21.01.2022 This is the kind of excitement and surprise we love to see here is Jeanette giving Kim a laptop for Erika our peace fellow from Philippines to bring home and share with the community to make a difference. So awesome
20.01.2022 Accolades to our Sydney representative Pam Carne who was one of the outstanding women to receive an International Women's Day award at the Hawkesbury Community Outreach Service morning tea. Pam‘s award was for her work on the TIB project. Wonderful to know that her contribution to the project was honoured alongside women from the Volunteer Fire Service in Bilpin and Colo Heights who worked tirelessly for many months fighting the Gospers Mountain fire this summer and women who are part of 5 generations in their family of volunteers in their community. As a Rotarian Pam has also been active in many, many other community projects.
19.01.2022 It is with sadness that I have accepted the resignation of our Educational Advisor Ric Duguid who has been taking an extended rest from the TIB project due to ill health. Ric has been part of the management team of the Teacher in a Box project right from the very early days and her on-going and huge contribution has been invaluable in the project’s journey. As a retired teacher with a huge passion for social justice and a child’s right to receive a quality education, Ric was... a natural for the project. Her wide experience in gifted education, working with students from non-English speaking backgrounds, and educational policy development, as well as general teaching duties brought to the project, skills, knowledge and abilities that complimented those of Patrick and myself. Ric’s involvement was critical to the project and gave it the educational authority to proceed. Not only active on the local front Ric has also been active internationally as well. Ric has represented the project in places such as Tanzania, Cambodia, Hamburg and Canada, with all but a small part of the travel costs at her own personal expense. The Teacher in a Box project is strongly underpinned by a layer of policies and procedures which have benefitted greatly from Ric’s input across a broad range of areas. Forever the teacher, Ric has also guided the personal development of team members. She is a very valued friend and mentor to us all. See more
18.01.2022 Wise words from this legend, Secretary-General of the United Nations for a decade & 2001 Nobel Peace Prize Kofi Annan. Education is the key, this is why we are working to help access to it.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Aunty McRose Elu for the award of Senior QLD of the year. Well deserved win for Aunty McRose, a lifelong advocate for Torres Strait communities and climate change. She was instrumental in negotiations to legally recognise the traditional customary adoption practices of Torres Strait Islander families in Queensland Australian of the Year Awards #AusoftheYear

13.01.2022 Always love sharing the success stories of schools where Teacher in a Box (TIB) has been deployed. TIB is an amazing educational tool but it takes dedicated teachers and passionate school administrators to use it to best advantage. Congratulations to the wonderful staff and students at East Meru Community School, we feel very honoured to be part of your journey.

12.01.2022 P R O J E C T L E A R N V A N U A T U A project from Rotary Paddington in partnership with Rotary Port Vila thanks to our incredible Rotarian Denise w...ith Teacher In a Box. Denise gave us a passionate talk about The project that was born last year and has now grown up to be soon realized on the field in the Efate & Espiritu Santo. Denise made us travel through the schools of Vanuatu and showed us the insight of the life being a teacher and a child in Vanuatu. A huge Lack of books and resources is what Teacher in a Box will help fixing and bring a better access to education to the communities. It is a very exciting project that came alive thanks to our amazing members and TIB workers. #thefutureisinourhands WE NEED YOU We are still looking for laptops donations so we can prepare more teacher in a box devices and help more communities. Contact us if you have a laptop or more & spread the word

09.01.2022 Apologies to Andrias Okun, Nondugl Rotary club President and the schools he is helping, for the delay of their Teacher in a Box orders. We sent the TIBs off several months ago but they were misplaced in transit. We will do what we can to get this sorted out as soon as possible. Apologies once again for the delay.
06.01.2022 Thanks to the Rotary Club of Greater Springfield and the AusCongo Network our first Teacher in a Box is on its way to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thanks also to the Rotary Club of Caloundra and Mark Ward. Through their efforts, a National High school on the island of Mindanao, Philippines will soon be using Teacher in a Box to enhance student education.
04.01.2022 We are very excited & would like to Congratulate Kate Huth!! Kate, a Rotary Peace Fellow, completed her Master’s thesis earlier this year by researching and reporting on the challenges facing users of Teacher in a Box. Kate’s research found the major issues facing teachers were that there weren't many links to curriculum and that it was therefore difficult for them to navigate the system. Kate is not just a talker either she has been actively working on solutions that ar...e expected to be introduced into Teacher in a Box some time during the first half of next year. The level of digital literacy of users was found by Kate to be the next biggest factor that determines a teacher’s success. We are delighted to now hear that Kate has been accepted to undertake her PhD at Griffith University next year and the planned focus of her study will be how to train the teachers, without being able to get trainers to them, and without regular online access. We are SO lucky to have such amazing and talented people working with us on this project. Kate Huth thank you
